Saturday, August 31st: "Chip Buster" Has Been Postponed (Will Be Rescheduled), But The Poker Action Rolls On!!!!

ICYMI: There was a feeling of trepidation yesterday, as players and staff kept a watchful eye on the impending storm.  That didn't stop the "Chip Buster" from continuing on, as the fifth starting flight of the event got underway, with the first hand being dealt moments after 11:00am.  Registration for Flight 1E would close with (49) entries, of which (7) players bagged chips for Day 2.  A full list of chip counts from Flight 1E is listed below:

During Flight 1E, an announcement was made regarding the future of the "Chip Buster."  Saturday and Sunday's flights were postponed, along with Monday's Day 2.  While decisions were going to be based on the outcome of the storm, the intention is to play those final four flights next weekend, and Day 2 next Monday (September 9th).

With that being said, the Friday evening flight (Flight 1F) ran as schedule, with action beginning at 6:00pm.  After eight levels of open registration, the field would close with (63) entries, of which (9) players would bag chips for Day 2.  An official list of Flight 1F chip counts are listed below:

Tournaments: With the decision to postpone the scheduled "Chip Buster" flights for today, there are no events on the schedule for August 31st.

Promotions: Things begin with the "Full House Promo," which opens the doors seven day a week!!!  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $50 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $50.  In order to be eligible, the full house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The "standard" high hands will be awarding $150 every (20) minutes (from 9:00am-6:00pm).  Every jackpot game is eligible for the same amount, with the full $150 being rewarded, regardless of one or two cards being used to make the high hand.  For those players in tournaments, two-card high hands are worth $100, with one-card high hands walking away with $50.

From 6:00pm-12:00am, the high hands will still be awarded every (30) minutes, but the winning amount goes up to $500 (for high hands using both cards).  Those winning high hands that are made using one card (during that time period), will be awarded $250.
