Saturday, October 23rd: Scott Schalk Tops Six-Way Deal, But It's Jonathan Marcu Extending His Player Of The Month Lead!

ICYMI: As we reach the final week of October, the tournament results become even more important, for those that are in the Player of the Month leaderboard race.  Last night's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) was an example of an event that may fly under the radar, but offers a great opportunity for players to climb the rankings.  The tournament's registration closed with a total of (91) entries, which equated to an official prize pool of $11,102.  A total of (12) players were scheduled to reach the money, with the evening's action playing down to a six-handed final table.  At that point, the remaining players agreed to a deal, with Scott Schalk (West Palm Beach, FL) taking home first place money.  Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) was also part of the deal, taking home sixth place money, which allowed him to increase his Player of the Month lead.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated weekly and monthly leaderboard:

Tournaments: Saturday's 6:00pm tournament is one of the most popular on the schedule, as it offers an incredibly affordable buy-in, that always sees some great returns.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) event has consistently crushing the posted guarantee, as the prize pool reaches five-figures on a weekly basis.  

The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 12,000 chips, and levels that last (20) minutes throughout the event.  Registration is open through Level 8, allowing for almost three hours of play, prior to the window closing for the night.  

Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)

  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
