Sunday, January 30th: Marcu Wins Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD), And Grabs Ahold Of Player Of The Month Lead

ICYMI: With only two tournaments left in the month of January, as the leaderboard as close as we've seen (since it's inception), the final two tournaments held more importance than ever.  Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) saw some impressive numbers, as registration closed with a total of (115) entries, and an official prize pool of $11,500.  The final fifteen players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a five-handed final table.  At that time, a deal was agreed to between the remaining players, with Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) taking home first place.  The first place leaderboard points helped Marcu vault to the top of the rankings, with only two more tournaments on the list:
  1. Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) $2,238
  2. Warren Thomas (Owen Sound, Canada) $1,754
  3. Mark Brannick (Boca Raton, FL) $1,550
  4. Dean Stevenson (Coral Springs, FL) $1,486
  5. Michael Weinberg (Delray Beach, FL) $1,131
  6. Genrikas Sakalinskas (Miami, FL) $506
  7. Jill Rukeyser (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $437

  11. Did Not Report (Englewood, FL) $299
  12. Shayne Christie (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $299
  13. Jeffrey Thomas (Pennisula, Canada) $259
