Friday, June 24th: After Heads-Up Deal, Jorge Rivera Finds Himself In The Second Place Slot On The Player Of The Month Leaderboard

ICYMI: Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) continues to grow in popularity with players, as the weekly numbers have seen a steady increase.  Last night's event attracted a total of (86) entries, which equated to an official prize pool of $17,460 (more than enough to surpass the posted guarantee).  A total of (11) players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to a heads-upfinal table.  The final pair agreed to an even chop, with Jorge Rivera taking home a single dollar more than David Albertson.  Official results from the event are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
