Friday, July 8th: Ingrid Ortiz And Marc Roth Chop Thursday's Tournament, With Things Now Getting Crowded Atop The Leaderboard

ICYMI:
Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) got underway at 6:00pm, with players hoping to notch another tournament cash, along with improving their standing on the tournament leaderboard.  Registration for the event closed with a total of (68) entries, which was short of the number needed to reach the posted guarantee.  The $15,000 prize pool was scheduled to be paid out across the top nine spots, with action playing down to a heads-up final table.  Ingrid Ortiz and Marc Roth then agreed to an even chop, with the official results listed below (along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard):
  1. Ingrid Ortiz (Davie, FL) $4,124
  2. Marc Roth (Plantation, FL) $4,124
  3. Adam Mammon (Lauderdhill, FL) $1,838
  4. Ian Cohen (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,313
  5. Brett Chase (Boca Raton, FL) $1,013
  6. Angelo Castaldi (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $788
  7. Nicholas Velentzas (Pompano Beach, FL) $675
  8. Brandon Woody (Coconut Creek, FL) $600
  9. Dave Henry (Coral Springs, FL) $525

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm - $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Optional $40 add-on at the end of registration (15,000 chips)
