Friday, August 5th: Jonathan Gordon Tops Friday's Four-Way Chop, With The Morning's Action Headlined By $1,000 "Highest Hand" Promotion

ICYMI:
After the final Thursday of July saw a $200 No Limit Hold'em event that ran without a posted guarantee, yesterday's event welcomed the return of the $15,000 guaranteed prize pool.  Registration for the tournament closed after Level 8, and once the optional add-ons were included in the prize pool, the official number closed at $15,845.  A total of ten players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to a four-handed final table.  Jonathan Gordon (Coral Springs, FL) held the chip lead when the ICM deal was agreed to, and ended up walking away with first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Jonathan Gordon (Coral Springs, FL) $3,448
  2. Manuk Cuhadaryan (Cliffside Park, NJ) $3,330
  3. Andres Florez (Henderson, NV) $2,612
  4. David Barbieri (Coconut Creek, FL) $2,328
  5. William Totaro (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $990
  6. Scott Hecker (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $745
  7. Krishna Collins (Tamarac, FL) $744
  8. Robert Williams (Miami Gardens, FL) $634
  9. Erez Fishman (Boca Raton, FL) $539
  10. David Albertson (Coral Springs, FL) $475

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm - $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Optional $40 add-on at the end of registration (15,000 chips)
