Friday, September 16th: Leaderboard Race Reaches Midway Point Of September, With A Big Weekend Of Tournaments Upcoming!!!

ICYMI:
Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) got underway at 6:00pm, and saw a field that grew to (59) entries.  After the optional add-ons were collected (and added to the prize pool), the official number did not reach the posted guarantee, which meant there would be a small overlay.  A total of eight players were scheduled to earn a piece of the $15,000 prize pool, with action playing through the money bubble, and down to a heads-up final table.  Brayden Fritzshall and Chris Underwood agreed to a deal, which saw the former walk away with first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Brayden Fritzshall (Chicago, Illinois) $5,399
  2. Chris Underwood (Lantana, FL) $3,173
  3. Nicholas Velentzas (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,988
  4. Travis Butler (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,350
  5. Oleg Feldman (Boca Raton, FL) $1,050
  6. Lee Connell (Boynton Beach, FL) $825
  7. Jeremy Ehrke (Clay, MI) $675
  8. Craig Pollak (Lake Park, FL) $540

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm - $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)
  • Players start with 12,000 in tournament chips
  • Levels will last (20) minutes
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
  • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
  • Optional $40 add-on at the end of registration (15,000 chips)
