Saturday, November 25th: Final Pair Of Starting Flights On Tap, As "November $100,000 II" On Pace To Crush The Guarantee

ICYMI: After a smaller sized Thanksgiving night opening flight (which was expected), players came out in force yesterday, as the first full day of the "November $100,000 II" flights were on the schedule.  Flight 1B started at 11:00am, and after fifteen full levels of play, the field would grow to (120) entries.  A total of (18) players remained at the end of Level 15, ready to bag chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  Dale Smith (315,500) and Jonathan Steward (270,500) bagged the flight's chip lead bonuses, and will both be entered into this week's $340 Package Satellite (November 29th).  Other notables to bag from the second of five flights, included Scott Zakheim (221,000), Tom Gity (168,000), William Underdown (100,500), and Raminder Singh (88,000).  A full list of Flight 1B chip counts can be found here.

As the second flight of the tournament was reaching it's later stages, Flight 1C would begin at 6:00pm, and eventually finish up with the largest field of the three to be played.  The tournament clock would show (130) entries when the bagging process began, with (14) players headed to Day 2.  The flight would be led by Francklin Michel (364,000) and Francis Margaglione (344,500), who bagged the chip lead bonuses.  Paul Vieira (281,500), Avery Bass (210,000), and Antoine Bahi (127,500), were just a few other names that were able to book Day 2 tickets from the flight.  A full list of chip counts from Flight 1C can be found here.

After three completed flights, there have been a total of (292) entries into the "November $100,000 II," with (37) players successfully bagging chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  The current prize pool sits at $58,400, meaning we should see the guarantee reached in the early stages of Flight 1E (6:00pm).

ICYMI: While the poker room was open at it's normally scheduled time yesterday, the tournament schedule saw only the evening slot filled on Thanksgiving.  The opening flight (Flight 1A) of the "November $100,000 II" got underway at 6:00pm, and over the course of the evening, the field grew to a surprising number.  Registration is open throughout each opening flight, so we wouldn't know the official number of entries until the bagging process began.  When the bags were broken out, there would be five players heading to Day 2, from a total of (43) entries.  Isle Poker notable David Coughlin (Lighthouse Point, FL) would lead the way, heading to Sunday with 313,000.  The group would be rounded out by:

Thursday, November 23: Maurice Hawkins Headlines Even Chop Of "Single Ante," Thanksgiving Brings The Beginning Of The "November $100,000 II"

ICYMI: The Wednesday before Thanksgiving was scheduled with two tournaments, the first of which was the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  The cards got in the air at 11:00am, and once registration closed, there would be (21) entries in the field.  The $3,000 prize pool would be spread across five pay spots, with Todd Kasten (Lake Worth, FL) heading a deal that would end the tournament.  Kasten earned $955 for first place, sitting with an overwhelming chip lead when the ICM numbers were broken down.

The evening time slot was occupied by the $175 No Limit Hold'em "Single-Ante" event, which boasted a very healthy $25,000 guaranteed prize pool.  This is the same structure that is used for the $2,500 "Single-Day Series," with the big blind posting a single ante for the table.  Of the (161) entries in the field, there were only a few that could say they've had experience with this structure, one of which would eventually be declared the tournament's winner.  Once registration closed, the remaining players would see the $25,000 prize pool broken down into (21) pay spots.  The tournament clocked scrolled slowly, showing a first place prize of $6,641.  Many familiar names cashed in the event, including Juan Rodriguez (21st place), Seth Medoff (15th place), and Alex Alvarez (11th  place).  Play continued on once the final table was reached, and wouldn't stop until the elimination of Tom Gity (in fourth place).  At that point, the remaining three players agreed to an even chop, each earning  $4,520 for their efforts.  Maurice Hawkins (Lake Worth, FL) would be declared the tournament's winner, adding yet another Isle Poker title to his impressive resume.

Wednesday, November 22nd: Single-Ante Structure Returns With A $25,000 Guarantee

ICYMI: "Tournament Tuesday" started at 11:00am, with the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack," which boasted a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  As Level 9 began, and registration closed, the field would consist of (34) entries (and a prize pool of $3,298).  Five players were scheduled to reach the money, with the tournament clock showing a $1,351 first place prize.  The event would cruise through the money bubble, and pause once heads-up play was reach.  At that point, Larry Richie and Harry Freeman agreed to an even chop, with Richie declared the "tournament's winner."

The $60 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD) was in it's standard Tuesday evening time slot (6:00pm), and would attract a sizable field of (197) entries.  Once the optional add-ons were included into the prize fund, the official number would close at $9,403.  The payouts would be posted just after registration's close, and players would learn that (25) spots were going to reach the money, with first place scheduled to take home $2,341.  The tournament would end in a chop, with a seven-way deal agreed to, shortly after midnight.

Tournaments: Wednesday's tournament schedule starts as it normally does, but then has a special event this evening, introduced for the first time as a daily event.  The action begins at 11:00am, with the $120 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  The structure stays the same (as yesterday), with starting stacks of 25,000 units, and levels that last (20) minutes over the course of the event.  It's one of the most generous structures a player will see for a daily event, and is by far one of the player favorites, in the afternoon time slot.

The $2,500 No Limit Hold'em "Single-Day" was introduced in August, and has since been run each month since.  One of the things that stood out about the event was it's structure, which is of the "single-ante" variety, and allows for some "different" play.  There are definitely more hands played with the big blind posting the ante for the table (pace of play), and also changes the dynamic of big blind play over the course of the event.  The $175 buy-in tournament is structured with 24,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (20) minute over the course of the night.  Outside of the "newly introduced" structure, there is a healthy $25,000 guaranteed prize pool, which should attract a big field for the night before Thanksgiving.

ICYMI: Monday's tournament action started with the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack Turbo Bounty" ($2,000 GTD), which got underway at 11:00am.  The event attracted a field of (46) entries, and after the optional add-ons were included in the prize pool, it would officially close at $2,537 (bounties included).  A total of four pay spots would be shown on the tournament clock, with first place scheduled to take home $989.  The event would end even before the "money bubble" was reached, as the final six players agreed to a deal.  Gregg Weiss (Delray Beach, FL) would earn first place money in the chop (worth $680), while Charles Maclennan and Linzell Borders took home the money from the "extra" pay spots.

ICYMI: Sunday's tournament action started with a $150 No Limit Hold'em event, which got underway at 12:00pm.  After eight levels (and a break that followed) of play, registration would close with (28) entries, and a prize pool of $3,220.  Once the payouts were posted, players still remaining would learn that four spots would reach the money, with first place scheduled to take home $1,450.  Those posted payouts would be altered, with the clock being paused after the money bubble burst, and the remaining players agreeing to a four-way deal.

ICYMI: Saturday afternoon's tournament ($100 No Limit Hold'em "Big Stack  Turbo Bounty" $3,000 GTD) saw a well-known Isle Poker notable return to the winner's circle.  Joseph Mancuso (Deerfield Beach, FL) bested a field of (56) entries, heading a four-way chop that ended the event.  Mancuso would earn $845 for his share of the deal, splitting the top four prizes with Pietro Tornebene, Samuel Borger, and Barry Teller.  The details of the deal, along with full tournament results are posted below.

Five places were scheduled to reach the money, and once the money bubble burst, it was a geographical mix of players making up the payouts.  Robert Johnson (Carmel, IN) would head a three-way chop, earning himself $849 for his efforts.

Tournaments: Sunday's recurring tournament actions gets underway at 11:00am, with the first card pitched for the $150 No Limit Hold'em event.  The tournament offers yet another generous structure for a daily, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, and levels that last (25) minutes over the course of the afternoon.

That tournament is followed at 6:00pm, by the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" ($2,500 GTD).  Players sit down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, with (20) minute levels, but there is a little wrinkle towards the end of the night.  After Level 16, the clock will be paused, and (10) final hands will be played.  Once those hands have finished, those players still left will split the prize pool (according to ICM calculations).  Leading up to the ICM chop portion of the tournament, the payouts do occur as scheduled, just like every other tournament on the schedule.  The upside to this event, is the fact that players can be assured that they will be out the door just after midnight...if players don't decide to chop on their own before that.

ICYMI: Friday's tournament action started (11:00am) with the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($2,000 GTD) event, which ended up attracting a field of (39) entries.  The prize pool would officially close at $2,000, after the optional add-ons were included in the number.  As many of the afternoon events do, this tournament ended in a chop, with six players walking away with a share of the prize fund.  Auber Andrade (Wilton Manors, FL) would be declared the tournament's winner, taking home $525 for his efforts.

ICYMI: Thursday's tournament action started off (11:00am) with the first mixed game event of the month, as cards got in the air for the $130 Limit Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($2,000 GTD).  A total of (19) players made up the field, and although three players were scheduled to get paid their share of the $2,000 prize pool, a pretty generous deal was made.  Action was paused with eight players remaining, as a deal was agreed to, with Stan Orenland (Coral Springs, FL) declared the tournament's winner.
