Tuesday, August 13th: Neal Corcoran Tops Final Table Chop Of "Chip Buster," Recurring Tournament Schedule Returns

ICYMI: Monday's tournament schedule was headlined by Day 2 of the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster" ($100,000 GTD).  At 1:00pm, a total of (213) players returned to action, of which (145) would reach the money.  When this event ran during the Florida State Poker Championships (last month), the Day 2 action took a while to play out, eventually turning into an unscheduled Day 3.  Yesterday's action was on the other side of the spectrum, as the tournament was over before 10:00pm, as a final table chop was agreed to.  Neal Corcoran (Stuart, FL) took home first place money in the deal ($16,445), with the official details of the deal listed below (full results from the tournament will be listed later this afternoon):
  1. Neal Corcoran (Stuart, FL) $16,445
  2. Nigel Murray (Miramar, FL) $10,992
  3. Cairo Maciel (Brazil) $8,591
  4. Gerson Silva (Brazil) $8,371
  5. Alberto Niebla (Miami, FL) $8,127
  6. Thomas Milmore (Boca Raton, FL) $8,088
  7. Elias Nassif (Davie, FL) $7,323
  8. Brian Dunn (Plantation, FL) $7,281
  9. Paul Martine (Davie, FL) $7,022
  10. Juan Mubarak (Hialeah, FL) $5,745
The recurring tournament schedule returned at 6:00pm, with a $60 No Limit Hold'em ($1,200 GTD) event, that offered $40 rake-free rebuys.  Registration for the event closed with (15) total entries, and an official prize pool of $1,200 (which was scheduled to be paid out across two spots).  Action played down to an outright winner, with the official results posted below:
  1. Roberto Desogos (Pompano Beach, FL) $780
  2. Benjamin Cohen (Coral Springs, FL) $420
Tournaments: While yesterday was the return to the recurring tournament schedule, today is the first full day back.  The action begins at 11:00am, with a $100 No Limit Hold'em event, that boasts a $2,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 14,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and has registration open through Level 8.

The "Chip Buster" returns at 6:00pm, but in it's recurring format, which sees a slightly more "condensed" structure.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em event has a $3.000 guarantee, which should easily be surpassed.  Players in the tournament will be sitting down to starting stacks of 50,000 units, playing (20) minute levels, and can register through Level 8.

Promotions: Things begin with the "Full House Promo," which will open the doors seven days a week (9:00am on Saturday and Sunday).  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $50 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $50.  In order to be eligible, the full house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

The "standard" high hands will be awarding $150 every (20) minutes (from 9:00am-12:00am).  Every jackpot game is eligible for the same amount, with the full $150 being rewarded, regardless of one or two cards being used to make the high hand.  For those players in tournaments, two-card high hands are worth $100, with one-card high hands walking away with $50.

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.

ICYMI: As expected, yesterday's numbers from the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Chip Buster" ($100,000 GTD), were reminiscent of what we saw during the Florida State Poker Championships (when the event almost attracted 2,000 entries).  The 11:00am flight (Flight 1G) closed with (185) total entries, which is the largest of the eight flights to have been played.  There were (27) players to bag chips from the afternoon flight, led by Mike Valdez, who packed away 741,000 for Day 2.  And official list of chip counts from Flight 1G, are listed below:

Tournaments: With over (1,000) entries, and a prize pool that's already eclipsed the $100,000 guarantee, today's final pair of flights are sure to be the largest.  The 11:00am (Flight 1I) and 6:00pm (Flight 1J) flights are the last opportunity for players to try and bag chips for tomorrow's Day 2.  Each of the flights have the same great structure, with 50,000 unit starting stacks, (30) minute levels, and registration open through Level 8.  Official chip counts from each flight will be posted at the end of play every evening.

Promotions: Things for the day begin with the "Full House Promotion," which kicks off the action seven days a week (when the doors open on the weekdays, and at 9:00am on Saturday and Sunday).  Players in all jackpot eligible games are awarded $50 for each full house made.  There are some important rules to think about though, as the full house must be made using two cards, and has to be the winning hand.

The "standard" high hand process will see $150 up for grabs, every (20) minutes.  From 9:00am-12:00am, players may qualify for the high hand, as long as they are holding aces-full or better (using one or two cards).
