Whether it's live or online, Harrison Gimbel (Jupiter, FL) is widely considered one of the top tournament players in the world.

Harrison Gimbel (Jupiter, FL) bagged 5,200 at the end of yesterday's Day 1C, and when he approached the table this morning, a clear plan was in mind.  "When he first sat down, I asked him if he was going to just re-enter," Joshua Hillock said aloud, referencing Harrison's option to surrender the chips (and re-enter with a fresh 40,000 stack).

Gimbel ended up turning that 5,600 into 42,600 over the first hour of the day, and was able to double up moments ago.  When we approached Table 9, Harry O'Brien had an 11,000 bet in front of him, with both Harrison Gimbel (42,600) and Oscar Valdez (63,000) all-in.  O'Brien was in the tank, and eventually got the clock called on him (by Valdes), deciding to release his hand before his time ran out.

Isle Open Event #11 (Day 2): After A Weekend To Celebrate WPT Runner-Up At BestBet, Jake Schwartz Joins The Action

Jake Schwartz (New York, NY) knew that he could enter Day 2 with close to (35) big blinds, so it was an easy decision to pass on the starting days, and take the weekend off from tournament poker.

The open registration through Level 12 gave players the option to pass on the weekend's starting flight, and just show up this afternoon (with play resuming in Level 10).  Jake Schwartz (New York, NY) would have normally played in one of the starting days, but decided to take the weekend off to celebrate, having just recorded his second largest tournament cash.

The WPT BestBet Bounty Scramble ($5,000 No Limit Hold'em) always falls on the schedule the week prior to this Isle Open Main Event, with many of the notables we know here at the Isle, taking a trip to Jacksonville to play in the tournament.  Schwartz is no stranger to the WPT, having made three final tables prior to this year's BestBet event.  He would reach his fourth last week, and while he fell short of the ultimate goal, Jake did earn $228,590 for his second place finish.  As mentioned earlier, the result is the second largest of Jake's career, behind his fourth place finish in the 2015 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic ($412,187).

Nick Palma (New Rochelle, NY) is a well known tournament professional, who travels the country playing events.  He's just off a win at his "home" poker room (Foxwoods), and is now here at the Isle, looking to add to his $1,419,000 in career earnings. 

Nick Palma (New Rochelle, NY) was in Orlando just a few days ago, celebrating his Foxwoods World Poker Finals Championship Event ($2,500 No Limit Hold'em) win, with a few well needed days off ($80,000 after a heads-up chop).  While the intention was to enjoy the sunny Florida weather, and take time away from the felt, the structure and appeal of the Isle Open Main Event was too good for "Nicky P" to pass up.  

Nick played yesterday's Day 1C, and ended up bagging 33,000 at the conclusion of Level 9.  He's returning to a smaller stack than those who bought in this afternoon, but it's nothing that Palma can't overcome, as he thrives on being in the underdog role...and likes when those in the community "doubt him."

Tournament Supervisor Ralph Brandt just finished settling everyone into their seating assignments (as already 12 players to have bought in before the first hand), with action now underway for Day 2 of the Isle Open Main Event.  For those that are interested, registration is open for the first three levels of the day, with the window closing once the first hand is dealt in Level 13.  The levels have transitioned to (60) minutes, and will stay that way through the conclusion of the event.  Live blogged coverage of the tournament will bring you updates throughout the next two days, so be sure to continually refresh the page to keep up.  

Monday, October 29th: Day 2 Of The Isle Open Main Evenr Headlines Schedule, Raminder Singh Wins Lucky Number Thirteen!!

ICYMI: Yesterday was the final starting day of the Isle Open Main Event ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em $300,000 GTD), and while things started off slowly, the field would grow to (75) entries (one short of Friday's opening number).  After nine full levels were played, there were (40) players remaining, with Zyad Qasem bagging the chip lead (221,100).  Qasem was the only player from Day 1C to bag over 200,000, with the following players rounding out the top five from the final starting day: Scott Baumstein (172,600), Christopher Gilkey (147,600), Peter Fellows (132,700), and Oron Unger (124,800).

After three opening days, Event #11 of the 2018 Isle Open heads to Day 2 with (207) entries, of which (89) have bagged chips.  The current prize pool sits at $279,450, but will change the moment action resumes today, as registration is still open (and will stay open through Level 12).

Last night was Event #12 of the Isle Open ($130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" $5,000 GTD), and while it may have been overshadowed by the Main Event, there was a notable storyline that came from the tournament.  Raminder Singh (Delray Beach, FL) became the first player to win two trophies during this series, shipping back-to-back $130 NLH "Turbo Bounty" events.  Thirteen may widely be known as an unlucky number, but not for Raminder, as that was his 13th major tournament win here at the Isle Poker Room.  Official details from last nights event will be posted during today's Main Event coverage.  

Tournaments: The day's tournament schedule kicks off (at 10:00am) with a $75 No Limit Hold'em Satellite Into Event #13 of the Isle Open ($300 No Limit Hold'em Black Chip Bounty $10,000 GTD).  The satellite is structured with 10,000 unit starting stacks, (15) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

At 12:00pm, Day 2 of the Isle Open Main Event will resume, with at least (89) players returning for action.  We say "at least," because registration is still open through Level 12 (three levels into the day), so there will be players buying in before the day starts, and over the course of day's early stages.  Players buying in will receive 40,000 unit starting stacks, with the first three levels of the day lasting (50) minutes.  Once registration is closed (Level 12), the play will resume with levels lasting (60) minutes, and will stay that way through the tournaments conclusion.

The final tournament of the day gets underway at 3:00pm, and is Event #13 of the Isle Open ($300 No Limit Hold'em "Black Chip Bounty" $10,000 GTD).  The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, levels that last (25) minutes, and registration open through Level 8.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.
