Thursday, January 24th: "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) Headlined Thursday's Tournament Schedule, With A Big Weekend Upcoming

ICYMI: Wednesday's tournament schedule began with the very popular $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" ($3,000 GTD), with 1 in 10 entries scheduled to win $1,000.  The event ended up seeing it's largest field since making it's way to the recurring schedule, as registration closed with a total of (48) entries.  The $4,800 prize pool was scheduled to be paid across five spots, with four $1,000 winners, and a fifth place prize of $800.  Action played out as scheduled, with official results from the tournament listed below:

Tournaments: Two "staple" tournaments of the recurring schedule highlight Thursday's schedule, beginning at 11:00am, with the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD) The player-friendly event is structured with 25,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  This tournament has a history of attracted nice sized fields, with today's installment expected nothing less.

The "Monster Stack" is followed at 6:00pm, by a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Bounty" event.  It should be noted, that this tournament is not the "turbo bounty" that runs on Sunday's, as players get extended levels of (20) minutes (along with the 20,000 unit starting stacks).  Registration is also open through Level 8, not the ten levels that the turbo allows.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).

From 12:00am-3:00am, the high hand will be awarded $100 every (60) minutes.

Wednesday, January 23rd: Mendes Adds His Name To The "Recurring Double" List, As Full House Promo And Survivor Headline Schedule

ICYMI: The recurring tournament schedule returned on Tuesday, with two non-no limit hold'em events on the schedule.  The first of the day was the $150 Omaha 8B Hi/Lo ($2,500 GTD), which saw some pretty impressive numbers.  Registration for the tournament closed with (31) entries, and an official prize pool of $3,472.  Four spots were scheduled to get paid, and after the elimination of Timothy Partrus (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) in fourth place, the remaining players agreed to a deal.  Official results from the event are posted below:

Promotions: Outside of the "standard" high hands, the poker room opens with the "new" Full House Promotion.  The proceedings begin once the doors of the poker room open, with the first (25) full houses made, earning a $40 prize.  Each jackpot eligible cash game is included in the promotion, with two rules to keep in mind, when thinking about winning the $40.  In order to be eligible, the full  house must be made using two cards, and must be the winning hand.

Tuesday, January 22nd: After The "Bankroll Builder" Wraps Up to Begin Week, Recurring Schedule Returns With Mixed Events

ICYMI: Mondays' action was focused on the "Bankroll Builder" (Day 2), but there was a recurring tournament that got started prior to the resumption of play.  The $150 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) found itself in a good spot, as players who didn't bag for the "Builder" along with those that were busting, made their way into the event.  After ten levels of open registration, the event's field would close with (54) entries, and an official prize pool of $6,210.  A total of seven players were scheduled to reach the money, with players agreeing to a deal, after one in-the-money elimination (Paulette Poirier).  Official results from the tournament are posted below:

John Magnetta (Boca Raton, FL) is known for his "over the top" celebrations, but he happened to be very quiet after winning the largest pot of the tournament.

Table 9 would be approached with John Magnetta and Steve Klein heads-up, on a flop of 7♠ 2♠ 2♦.  With almost 60,000 in the pot, Klein would sit with a 60,000 bet in front of him.  Magnetta was deep in the tank, cutting out his chips...stacking them up, and cutting them out again (a few different times).  After close to two minutes, John pushed forward a raise to 200,000, which looked to come as a surprise to Klein.  Steve looked at the tournament clock, and assessed by stacks, as both players started the hand with close to 500,000.  Klein eventually decided to shove, with Magnetta quickly making the call:

River: 4♦

John was in supreme shape when the cards were turned over, but had to deal with the ultimate sweat, as Klein turned outs to a flush.  The 4♦ on the river sealed the pot for Magnetta, which happened to be the largest of the tournament.  Magnetta's usual "boom" celebration wasn't broke out, leading us to believe that he is saving it for later in the tournament.

Rodney Moret-Rojas (Troy, MI) has made a happen of going deep in Isle Poker multis, and looks to claim back-to-back titles (after winning the Isle New Year Kickstart).

On the third hand of the hand-for-hand bubble process, Robert DiAntonio shoved over an open at Table 3.  Rodney Moret-Rojas was next to act, and he'd follow the shove with an all-in of his own, clearing out the rest of the players behind (along with the original raiser):

Kimberly Jones (Pompano Beach, FL) came into the day as one of the shorter stacks in the field, but hit a miracle river to double her stack.

As mentioned to start the day, "speed" was going to be the name of the game, as we watched the field lose five players in the first fifteen minutes of play.  Kimberly Jones (Pompano Beach, FL) looked to be the sixth player to depart the tournament area, but found a fortunate river to double up and stay alive.  Jones was all-in with K♥ Q♠, on a board of A♦ Q♥ 4♣ 7♣, needing a lot of help against A♠ K♥.  The Q fell on the river though, securing the double for Jones, bringing her stack to just under 100,000.  Jones is still in the danger zone (with less than fifteen bigs), but is happy to have the opportunity to reach the money.
