What is a "last longer" in a poker tournament (following definition provided from a recent web search): Last longer is a side wager between tournament players, on who will be last to get knocked out.  Whoever last the longer wins the wager, and any prizes agreed upon.

It's a pretty common occurrence among familiar faces in the tournament poker world.  The Isle Casino Pompano Park Poker Room is "raising the ante" so to say, as they introduce a "last longer" option for the $600 No Limit Hold'em ($30,000 GTD) on Sunday (June 18th).  Players in the event will have a choice to enter into a Last Longer with other tournament attendees, separate from the $600 tournament buy-in.

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):

ICYMI: Thursday's $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD) may not carry the double leaderboard points anymore, but that didn't damper it's popularity with players.  Last night's installment saw registration close with a total of (95) entries, and after the optional add-ons were included in the prize pool, the official number closed at $19,000.  Twelve players were scheduled to reach the money in the tournament, with action playing down to a six-handed final table, at which point a deal was agreed upon.  Jonathan Jimenez took home first place money ($2,841), but everyone involved walked away with over $2,000.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

Tournaments: With the arrival of the weekend, comes the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)...the tournament that started this incredible tournament resurgence at the Isle Casino Pompano Park poker room.  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 15,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

Thursday, June 2nd: Thursday's Headlined By $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD), As We Look Towards Crowning A New Player Of The Month

Tournaments: Today's tournament schedule welcomes a new event to the calendar, as we introduce the $200 No Limit Hold'em ($15,000 GTD).  The event is structured with starting stacks of 20,000 units, (20) minutes levels, and also offers a $100 optional add-on at the end of the registration period (for an additional 25,000 in chips).  There is unlimited late and re-entry for the first eight levels, with all players sitting down to a fresh starting stack.

Wednesday, June 1st: Zaki Lichaa Is May's Player Of The Month, June Introduces Early Bird High Hands And A WSOP Main Event Seat To Tournament Leaderboard Winner!!!!

ICYMI: Tuesday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) offered up the last opportunity for players to climb the leaderboard, and try to eclipse Zaki Lichaa (who held the lead going into the final event of the month).  Registration for the tournament closed with (47) entries, and an official prize pool of $5,000.  Six players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a three-handed final table.  The final trio agreed to a chop, with the official results posted below (an official Player of the Month leaderboard will be posted this afternoon, but we can state officially, that Zaki Lichaa is the winner for the month of May!!!):
