Sunday, February 26th: Event 8 Crushes Guarantee, Plays Down To A Winner Today

After the final pair of Event 8 flights, the official numbers were larger than anyone could have expected (with registration still open until the cards are in the air at 12:00pm).  To this point, there have been (1,112) entries, equating to a prize pool of $342,210.  Those are some of the largest numbers the Isle Poker Room has seen at this price point ($360 buy-in), and the payouts are going to reflect that.  While nothing can be made official until the Day 2 entries are added, this tournament is looking at a first place prize over $65,000!!

We saw two more players earn Battles At The Beach $1,500 Main Event seats yesterday, with Mark Salerno (Ontario, Canada) bagging 346,500 after buying in during Level 12, and Christian Rodriguez (Miami, FL) capturing the last bonus with 326,000 in Flight 1F.  Rodriguez is a name that followers of the poker world would recognize, having finished in fifth place during the 2015 WSOP "Monster Stack" event ($335,938).

Live coverage of Day 2 (Event 8) begins at 12:00pm, with updates provided through the conclusion of the event.  The level length transitions to (50) minutes when play resumes, so a long day can be expected.  There is also a "second chance" event on the today's schedule, the Event 9 $75 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack ($5,000 GTD).
