Saturday, April 1st: Gity Grabs Another Title, April Kicks Off With $5,000 Free Roll And $1,000 High Hands

ICYMI: Tom Gity (Pompano Beach, FL) is one of the more accomplished players to frequent the poker room during the "daily" tournaments each week.  He's in the top (50) on the all-time Isle Casino Pompano Park recorded cashes list, and has over $124,000 in live tournament earnings.  Tom has (34) recorded results on his resume, and while he's won tournaments at many different properties in the area, Gity recorded his first win last night for his Hendon Mob resume.

Yesterday's lone tournament on the schedule was a $150 No Limit Hold'em event with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.  There were a total of (82) entries, with an official prize pool of $10,000 after registration closed.  There were (9) spots scheduled to get paid, with a posted first place prize of $3,400.  Once players reached the money, discussion of a potential deal began, and was eventually agreed to.  Gity was the declared winner, earning $1,621 for his first place finish, with Michael Olcha ($1,542) and Carl Vidal ($1,249) rounding out the top three.  The rest of the results will be posted on Monday afternoon, along with all of the other tournaments throughout the week.

Tournaments: There are two tournaments on the schedule today, the first of which begins at 10:00am. The $5,000 GTD Free Roll w/ $20 Rebuys allows players the opportunity to grab there share of a sizable prize pool, without taking a dollar out of there pocket.  Each time a free roll is run, they attract large fields, with this afternoon expected to be no different.  The second tournament gets underway at 6:00pm, and is $120 No Limit Hold'em event with an $8,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Promotions: Players don't have to wait long before April's high hand promotions stand front and center, with $1,000 high hands this afternoon (running from 1:00pm-10:00pm).  The highest qualifying hand for each hour will win themselves a cool thousand dollars.  Outside of that particular promotion, the "standard high hand" applies for the rest of the day.
