Players are about half the way through Level 8, signifying the close of this flight's registration. Those still wanting to can enter Flight 1C up until the moment Level 9 starts (there is a 10 minute break after this level), which is at 2:45pm. The official number may change just a bit over the next (30) minutes, but this flight's attendance is very similar in numbers to yesterday's opening flight (which had 101 entries). As the word begins to spread about the potential size of this prize pool, we should see some bloated numbers over the next couple of days.
Rick Kalgstein (Sunrise, FL) just became the first players to see their stack move north of 100,000. Already holding one of the top stacks in the field, Kalgstein had an opponent at risk for a 30,000 pot, holding K♠ K♦ against 9♥ 9♣. The runout stayed clean for Rick, who pulled back his chips, and began collecting some new ones pushed his way by the dealer.
