Yesterday's afternoon flight (Flight 1E) had a total of (191) entries, with (26) players bagging chips for Sunday's Day 2. Brent Granda (Aventura, FL) continued his pattern of "annual run good" during the Florida State Poker Championships, a feat that he has accomplished in 2013, 2014, and 2016. Isle Poker tournament regular Luke Rosenberg also experienced the better side of variance, using some critical spots to finish up with 241,500 in the bag. Others to bag from Flight 1E were Mikael Lundell (245,500), Kevin Scarola (176,000), and Alberto Niebla (124,500).
Last night's flight (Flight 1F) was the largest of the six to have been played, with (220) entries making up the field. The clock was paused with 10:15 minutes showing, as 13% of the field remained (29 players), and the bagging process began. Steve Raemen was over 100,000 chip clear of his nearest competitor, bagging the chip lead with 428,500. Also bagging last night was Robert Transue (264,500), Tom Gity (153,500), Luminita Petric (122,000).
Tournaments: The final pair of flights for Event 1 are on the schedule today, with Flight 1G beginning at 11:00am, and Flight 1H "putting a bow" on things at 6:00pm. That also means that there are two more chip lead bonuses to be awarded, worth $1,100 each (and potentially much more than that). The structure for each flight mirrors those that came before it, with starting stacks of 20,000 units, and levels of (25) minutes. "Live blogged coverage" will be offered for Flight 1G, with updates starting the moment the cards get in the air.
Promotions: The high hand promotions take another "breather" today, between yesterday's (11) hours worth of "turbo" high hands, tomorrow's (7) hours of $300 high hands (awarded every 15 minutes). The "standard high hand" procedure is in place, awarded prizes to qualifying high hands every (30) minutes (with rollovers).
