Tuesday, September 19th: Fellows Books First "Single-Day Series" Seat, While Pickard Bests $25k Field

ICYMI: The $2,500 "Single-Day Series" clearer got players attention last month, as the tournament attracted (75) entries, along with a prize pool over $175,000.  After players requested more satellites for the event, the powers-that-be listened, putting two on the schedule in the week leading up.  Yesterday afternoon was the first satellite, with the $275 buy-in event guaranteeing one seat, which was scooped up by tournament regular Petter Fellows.  There were (17) entries into the satellite, which meant that second place would take home $1,750 cash.  Jeffrey Silverstein was the runner-up finisher, so it will be interesting to see if he takes the discounted route towards Friday's event.

Monday's evening event was the $130 No Limit Hold'em ($25,000 GTD), which always brings out large fields.  Last night's installment saw registration close with (234) entries, which equated to a $25,000 prize pool.  A total of (30) players would reach the money, with a min-cash worth $173, but all eyes on the first place prize (which was $5,838).  It looked as if action may play down to an outright winner, but once four-handed play was reached, a deal was made.  The four players involved in the chop were all Isle Poker notables, earning over $3,161 each for their efforts.  Listed below are the results from the tournament's final table.

Tournaments: "Tournament Tuesday" begins at 11:00am, as the cards get in the air for the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD).  Deep play is always available with a structure that starts players with 25,000 unit starting stacks, and levels of (20) minutes.  This particular afternoon tournament end a little later than others during the week, but none of the players are complaining, as they are able to "play" in the later stages of the event.

The "Monster Stack" is followed by the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD), which always attracts monster-sized fields.  The tournament sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, along with (20) minute levels over the course of the night.  There is an optional add-on at the end of registration (after Level 8), which allows players to pay $20 for an additional 10,000 units towards their stack.

Promotions: It's all about getting to the poker room early on Tuesdays (and Thursdays), as the "Early Bird Full House" promotion offers an awarded cash prize (depending on game plated) for the first (50) full houses of the day (in live cash games).  That promotion is followed by $300 high hands every (15) minutes, from the hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm.
