Richard Wetter and Darcy Deconza traded the chip lead a handful of times over the final level of the flight, but it would be a Deconza who would sit with the largest stack at the end of play (234,500). Eric Piderit also made a run at the Event #15 seat, winning a 220,000 pot versus Robert Tanner, just three hands before the clock was paused.
Deconza is a recreational player from Hollywood, who has now booked her seat into the largest buy-in event of her career. Darcy found herself towards the top of the leaderboard early in the flight, but used a critical hand against Elsie Rodrigues to really put herself in chip lead contention (with her Q♥ Q♣ besting the J♠ J♥ of Rodriguez, all-in pre for a pot worth 190,000).
The tournament staff is currently verifying the stacks of the (23) players that reached the bagging process, with official counts to be posted here on the blog shortly afterwards (just after 7:00pm).
