Isle Open Event 1 (Flight 1C): Gordon Recovers Nicely, Back Above Average

2017 Isle Open | Event #1
$175 No Limit Hold'em | $100,000 GTD
Level 15 (Blinds 1,500/3,000/500)
Total Flight 1C Entries: 107
Flight 1C Players Remaining: 24

Donald Gordon (Boynton Beach, FL) is "back in business," after dropping very close to the dreaded ten
big blind mark.

Donald Gordon hit a rough patch earlier, when he lost almost 50,000 in a single pot to Paulius Bikus, having to fold to a shove on the turn.  Gordon would be left with just over 20,000 in front of him, which was less than (20) big blinds. Donald was just able to get some of those chips back from Bikus, inducing a fold on the river from Bikus, after firing out a sizable river bet.  Gordon would flash A♠ Q to Paulius (on the ace high board), collecting the 50,000 pot, which put Donald back over 100,000.

Gordon would still have to do some work to put himself in contention for the "chip lead bonus," but with (35) minute remaining in the flight, anything would be possible.  It still continues to be anyone's bonus to grab, as Bikus drops below 200,000, leaving a large group within 20,000 chips of each other.

Donald Gordon - 105,000

Level 16 (the next level) will be the last of the flight, with the clock pausing at the 10:00 minute mark, and players finishing up with three hands.  At the end of those hands, we will bring you the flight's chip leader, and follow with the official chip counts from Flight 1C.  Just as the bagging process is wrapping up, the cards will be getting in the air for Flight 1D of Event #1, which begins at 6:00pm.
