Total Day 1A Entries: 13

Today begins Event #15 of the 2017 Isle Open, a $1,100 No Limit Hold'em tournament with a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.  There are two starting flights for the event, with Flight 1A beginning at 11:00am this afternoon, and Flight 1B following tomorrow (at the same time).  Day 2 sees the players that had bagged, return for the first time as a combined field, to play down to a winner.  The structure of the event has players sitting down to starting stacks of 20,000 units, playing levels that last (40) minutes in Levels 1-9, and transitioning to (50) minutes Levels 10+.  Both starting flights will play a scheduled (12) full levels, with the chip leader from each flight winning a $1,500 Main Event seat.

This same tournament was not run during last year's installment of the Isle Open, so history will be made with this event, as we will look back on this tournament each year (moving forward).  There was an $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event introduced during this year's Florida State Poker Championships, which also had a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool, and ended up attracted a total of (259) entries.  Stu Paterson chopped the event with Alexander Fradin, with the former taking home $55,000 for the win.

Tournament Director Ralph Brandt went of the rules for this "intimate" early afternoon field just a few moments ago, and the players are now ten minutes into level one.  We will allow the tables to fill up a little, before our first look at notables is featured here, kicking off today's Day 1A "live blogged coverage."
