Isle Open Event 15 (Day 1A): Rakusa Looks To Close Out Day 1A With Chip Lead

2017 Isle Open | Event #15
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD
Level 12 (Blinds 600/1,200/200)
Total Day 1A Entries: 62

Andre Rakusa may have lost an earlier hand that was featured on the blog (against Trent Smith), but he's since trended steadily upward, and leads the field by a wide margin.

Players are entering the final level of the night, and will be playing down to the 10:00 minute mark of Level 12.  At that time, the tournament supervisor will announce how many hands remain in the night.  Once those hands are then completed, the bagging process will begin, and the winner of the Day 1A chip lead bonus will be crowned.  The player with the largest stack at the end of the night will earn free entry into the $1,500 Isle Open Main Event, and can choose any of the three starting flights to play in.

Andre Rakusa is the leader heading into Level 12 (with over 125,000), and at the moment, is the only player over 100,000.  We've seen how much the landscape can change over the final level of a starting day, but Andre sits close to 40,000 clear of his nearest competitor.

Once the bags have been made official, the end of Day 1A chip counts will be posted (around 9:45pm), concluding the live coverage for the day.  Things will pick back up tomorrow afternoon (11:00am), as the second (and final) starting day of the tournament kicks off.
