Isle Open Event 15 (Day 3): Gross Becomes The First Day 3 Departure ($10,811)

2017 Isle Open | Event #15
$1,100 No Limit Hold'em | $150,000 GTD
Level 26 (Blinds 15,000/30,000/4,000)
Total Event 15 Entries: 180
Players Remaining: 3

Sheldon Gross (Hillsboro Beach, FL) flopped two pair in a blind v. blind hand, but wasn't able to fade the combo draw of Noel Atherley.

The final table just experienced a few firsts...with the first all-in and call...and the first elimination.  In a blind v. blind confrontation, Sheldon Gross and Noel Atherley got it all-in (on the flop) for close to 1,400,000.  Gross held 9 3♣ on a J♠ 9♠ 3 flop, and would be up against the 10♠ 8♠ of Atherley.  The turn brought Gross one card closer to doubling, but Noel completed his flush with the 4♠ on the river, meaning Sheldon would be the first Day 3 elimination.

Sheldon falls short of his first major title, but does earn $10,811 for his fourth place finish.  This result is Sheldon's largest since January of 2015, when he finished fourth in the $1,500 Isle Classic Main Event ($36,250).
