Tuesday, October 10th: Maurice Hawkins Calls His Shot, Isle Open Action Continues

ICMYI: Yesterday's Isle Open action was all about big numbers, as both tournaments crushed the guaranteed numbers.  The day opened at 11:00am (Event #3), with the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($7,000 GTD), attracting a field of (178) total entries.  After the optional add-ons were collected at the end of registration, the final prize pool would close at $8,936.  Once the payouts were released, players would see that (23) players were going to reach the money, with first place scheduled to take home $2,311.  The tournament eventually played until four-handed action was reached, at which point a deal was made, with Fred Alesi (Delray Beach, FL) declared the tournaments winner (taking home the trophy).  Posted below are the final table results, with the full results found by clicking here:

The first storyline that came out of the 6:00pm tournament (Event #4 | $130 No Limit Hold'em | $20,000 GTD), was the size of the field.  The $27,800 prize pool was made up of (278) entries, just crushing the guaranteed number of $20,000.  The second storyline was Maurice Hawkins (Plantation, FL), who landed in Florida from a trip just before 6:00pm, and "called his shot" via Twitter (while driving to the poker room):
Hawkins would have actually "cuddled up" with $6,226 if he had won the tournament outright, but ended up taking home $3,970 after chopping the event five-ways.  The results is Hawkins's (21st) recorded tournament win, and fifth title during an Isle Poker Room "major series."  The final table results are listed below, with the full listing found by clicking here.
