While making a lap of the field, the first thing to stand out was the chip stack of Andre Rakusa (Coral Gables, FL), which had more than doubled since break. Andre was third in chips as Level 8 was ending, but after winning a massive pot against Nagui Yassa moments ago, he stands alone atop the leaderboard.
We weren't there to witness the hand in question, but Andre's table mate Richard Rice was kind enough to relay the details. In a raised pot, Yassa shipped with A♠ J♠ on an A♥ x x 4♣ board, but ran into the A♦ 4♦ of Rakusa. The two players were very close in stack size, with Andre holding just a few thousand more than Nagui.
