Thursday, March 14th: Shlomo Maman Heads Event #1 Chop, As Five Players Book Main Event Seats

ICYMI: Wednesday's Battles At The Beach schedule saw (131) players returning at 12:00pm, for Day 2 of Event #1 ($175 No Limit Hold'em).  After just ninety minutes of play, Michael Tait (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) would score a double-elimination on the bubble, sending the field into the money.  From there...it was all about pace, as players were heading to the tournament podium (to get paid) at a rapid pace.  The final table was reached shortly after 7:00pm, and after a handful of eliminations, the final five players agreed to a deal, with Shlomo Maman (N. Miami Beach, FL) taking home $15,615 for first place.  Shlomo broke out onto the tournament poker scene on a big way in 2011, running deep a $10,000 buy-in event at Hard Rock (Hollywood), and earning over $27,000.  The results were then limited since that date, with eight recorded cashes over the next seven years (none over $1,130).  Joining Maman in the chop were also Isle Poker notables Frank Scala and David Albertson.  Listed below, are the official numbers from the deal, along with the rest of the results from the final table.

The evening time slot was filled by the first satellite (of a handful) for the Battles At The Beach $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event.  The satellite, which boasted a five seat guarantee, saw registration close with (31) entries.  The handful of players listed below are the first "official" entries into this series' championship event:

Tournaments: The Battles At The Beach continues on with the first Single-Ante tournament of the series.  The $250 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante event (Event #2) boasts a very healthy $30,000 guaranteed prize pool, along with an extremely player-friendly structure.  Players in the tournament will be sitting down to starting stacks of 50,000 units, and playing levels that last (30) minutes over the course of the event.  Registration for the tournament is open through the first (10) levels, which allows players to join the action until approximately 4:30pm.

Event #3 follows the single-ante action (at 6:00pm), and returns to the "standard" no limit hold'em tournament.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" has a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool, which should be surpassed long before registration is closed (after Level 10).  The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (15) minutes.  There is a $25 bounty awarded for each player elimination (which is included in the overall prize pool).

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
