FSPC Event #14 (Day 1B): Second Verse, Same As The First, Day 1B Of FSPC Main Event About To Begin

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #14 | $1,500 No Limit Hold'em ($500,000 GTD)
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Day 1B Entries: N/A
Day 1B Players Remaining: N/A

One down and three to go...and the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em Main Event of the Florida State Poker Championship already looks like it's going to be a very special event.  Day 1A drew a mixture of decorated professionals, satellite winners, recreational grinders, and players looking to make a name for themselves.  In total, Day 1A would close with (106) total entries, of which (24) players reached the bagging process.  Ido Ashkenazi (Queens, NY) bagged up the chip lead, as his end of day stack grew to 315,000.

The prize pool officially closed at $104,410, which is one of the stronger starts we've seen for this particular event.  Last year's FSPC Main Event had a field of (548) entries, and a prize pool of $739,800, with first place taking home $142,173.  With an extra opening day this year, those numbers are sure to be eclipsed, as we could have a prize pool that reaches $800,000.

Event #14 offers up one of the best structures for a $1,500 buy-in main event, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 units.  Levels 1-12 will last (50) minutes long (which is the entirety of Day 1), and will transition to (60) minutes on Day 2 (Levels 13+).  Registration for the event is open through Level 12 (all of Day 1), and stays open until the first hand is dealt on Monday (Day 2).

Liver blogged coverage of Day 1B will start with official chip counts from yesterday's Day 1A, and will continue with a look at players in the field.  Updates will continue throughout the afternoon (into evening), concluding once the bagging process is completed.
