ICYMI: Saturday came and went with no surprises, as we expected eye-popping numbers for the "Isle New Year Kickstart."  The final pair of flights for the tournament attracted a combined total of (422) entries, which each eclipsing the (200) entry mark on their own.  Flight 1G reached the bagging process with (23) players remaining, led by David Robertson, who packed away 453,000 for Day 2.  Albertson was the only player to eclipse the 400,000 mark, with Joseph Patalano, Marc Bronstein, and Cairo Kormann, all bagging over 300,000.  Flight 1H reached the bagging process with (24) players remaining, led by Sean Shah, who bagged 407,000.  He was also the only player from his flight to eclipse the 400,000 mark, with Trevor Samuels and Joseph Rahman bagging over 300,000.

The "Isle New Year Kickstart" saw it's registration period close with 1,126 total entries, and an official prize pool of $177,908.  At 12:00pm this afternoon, (127) players will be returning for Day 2, with (98) of those players reaching the money.  While just making the money is an initial goal for most players, all eyes are on the top final table payouts.  The top four spots are scheduled to walk away with five-figure scores, including a first place prize of $31,963.  All of the action from today's Day 2 will be updated on the blog, so be sure to start checking that browser at 12:00pm.

Tournaments: The day's action begins at 11:00am, with an $80 No Limit Hold'em event, which boasts a $2,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The tournament is structured with 12,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.  During the break after Level 8, players have the option to add-on, choosing between a single ($20) or double ($40) add-on.

As mentioned above, the (127) to have bagged chips for the "Isle New Year Kickstart" will return to action at 12:00pm, as Day 2 is scheduled to play down to a winner.  There are now structural changes, as levels continue to be (30) minutes long, with action resuming in Level 15 (with 5:40) on the clock.

The evening time slot (6:00pm) is filled by the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Single Re-Entry" ($1,500 GTD) event.  While not quite a "freeze out," this tournament focuses on the importance of decisions, as players will only be entitled two total entries (while most tournaments are unlimited).  The event is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and registration that is open through Level 8.

Promotions: The high hands will run from 9:00am-12:00am, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
