ICYMI: To say that Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($50,000 GTD) was a success, would be considered a true understatement. The tournament exceeded all expectations, and is sure to see a similar turnout next Sunday as well. Cards got in the air at 3:00pm, and by the time registration closed (after Level 8, and the break that followed), the tournament clock would boast (254) entries. The $87,122 prize pool was scheduled to be paid out across the final nine players, meaning a min-cash alone would see a return of almost nine buy-ins!!! First place was scheduled to take home over $35,000, and with the top spots offering up such eye-popping numbers, it's no surprise that the final three agreed to a chop. Andrew Kern, who was already atop the Player of the Month leaderboard, took home first place money (worth $24,375). Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
- Andrew Kern (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $24,375
- Gregorio Correa (Tamarac, FL) $19,657
- Samuel Sternfield (Coral Springs, FL) $15,210
- Efthimios Piperakis (Pembroke Pines, FL) $6,099
- Carlos Garcia (Miami, FL) $6,099
- Adam Mammon (Lauderhill, FL) $4,356
- Ronald Campillo (Plantation, FL) $4,356
- Angela Lynn (Did Not Report) $3,485
- Shamica Lamar (Wellington, FL) $3,485
Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD)s "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle. This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2). To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.
