With cards now back in the air, registration is officially closed for Flight 1A, as the field ended up with (66) total entries.  The number of entries equates to $10,032 towards the overall prize pool, which is guaranteed to be at least $100,000.  Surprisingly, only (24) players remain in the flight, with just under a third of the total number still trying to reach the bagging process.  In the upcoming Level 10 post, we will bring you updated chip counts from the field.

Juan Ferrer (Boisbriand, FL) chose not to three-bet his hand pre-flop, which may have helped disguise the strength when he went all-in.

James Tomblin was the most recent Flight 1A entry, and would be seated at Table 9.  Just two hands after sitting down, Tomblin would limp from early position, with Nigel Murray raising to 2,000 (next to act).  Murray's raise would be called in three spots, including Juan Ferrer in the big blind, and the original limper Tomblin.  Four players would see a flop of A♦ 9♣ 2♣, with Ferrer leading out into the field, with a wager of 9,000.  James Tomblin then shoved for the rest of his starting stack (about 17,950), with players folding around to Ferrer, who made the call.

"I just have ace-queen," Tomblin said to Ferrer, as he tabled his hand face up (A♠ Q♣).  Ferrer responded by turning over A♥ K♦, and after the turn and river would both bring sevens, Tomlbin would be exiting the table.  While James headed to the cage to re-enter, Ferrer scooped up the sizable pot, which brings him up to 55,000.

Most people are happy if they leave Las Vegas with the same amount of money they went there with...well Scott Levitt (Delray Beach, FL) found himself more than $25,000 richer on the way home.

One notable absence from the month's first multi ($175 No Limit Hold'em $100,000 GTD) was that of Scott Levitt (Delray Beach, FL), who rarely misses a "special" event here at the Isle Poker Room.  Levitt happened to be in Las Vegas during the two weeks of June, which is why he wasn't in attendance, but he did record some nice results while there.

Levitt started his trip with a nice run in the $600 No Limit Hold'em event during the Deepstack Championship Poker Series at the Venetian, earning $1,806 for his 66th place finish.  Just two days later, Scott would record his highlighting score of the trip, finishing runner-up in another $600 No Limit Hold'em during the same series ($20,860).  His trip concluding with a twelfth place finish in the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em event that was part of the 2018 Wynn Summer Classic.  Levitt would see a return of $4,160 for the result, which brought his combined total for the trip to $26,826.

Scott is now seating at Table 3, and hopes to continue the good run in one of his favorite poker rooms.

Jackie Lee (Palm Beach, FL) is happy to be the early leader, but he knows that this doesn't mean success in the later stages of the day.

At Table 3, Jackie Lee (Palm Beach, FL) was heads up against William Swicicki on the river, with the two staring down at a board of K♥ J♣ 6♠ 8♥ 6♦.  With almost 10,000 in the pot, William shoved for just over 15,000, and watched as Lee quickly made the call (with A♠ K♠).  Swicicki turned over J♥ 10♥, having flopped a pair and turned a flush draw, but whiffed on the river.  His attempt to push Lee off his hand was unsuccessful, and William would exit the table.  Lee chipped up to over 50,000 with the pot, and is one of the early chip leaders in the field.

The Flight 1A field opened up pretty strong, and is already pushing (50) total entries, which is a quality number for a Sunday afternoon flight (on a holiday none the less).  Many of the faces in the crowd a recognizable, including that of Jose Parra (Hialeah Gardens, FL), who is just two weeks removed from a deep run in a $250 No Limit Hold'em event a Seminole Hard Rock (36th Place - $418).  Parra's career tournament earnings are now just shy of $190,000, as he creeps closer to the $200,000 lifetime milestone.  Parra headlines our first look at notables in the crowd, including the likes of:

Posted below is the official schedule for the 2018 Florida State Poker Championship, which is the tenth anniversary of the prestigious series.  There are (17) primary events over the course of three weeks in July, including four "showcased" events, headed by the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em FSPC Main Event ($500,000 GTD).  The main event is one of the first "post-WSOP" majors, and has grown in popularity (and numbers) each and every year.  

Leading up to the main event, there are three other tournaments which carry six-figure guarantees, starting with Event #1.  The $175 No Limit Hold'em opening event has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, and eight opening flights for players to choose from.  Running from July 5th through July 9th, the event is sure to see one of the largest fields of the series.   Just a few days after Event #1's conclusion, Event #4 follows with the series' second six-figure guaranteed prize pool, as the $360 No Limit Hold'em event boasts a $200,000 guarantee.  With six flights running from July 12th through July 15th, the tournament will likely see the second largest prize pool of the series (behind the main event).  The third of four "showcased" events is Event #9, as the $1,100 No Limit Hold'em tournament offers yet another $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.  There are four opening flights that run from July 19th through July 22nd, with players returning on July 23rd for Day 2.

In between those events, there are thirteen other options for players to get their hands on a FSPC trophy, including four bounty events, an Omaha 8B Hi/Lo tournament, a Seniors Championship, and the addition of a six-max format.  

There is some excited news to follow in regards to the series, as both Scotty Nguyen and Vanessa Russo will be joining us for the FSPC $1,500 Main Event.  While they are in attendance, there will be a schedule meet and greet/autograph session (times and dates to be determined).  Structure sheets and satellite schedule will also be released in the upcoming weeks.

While some families are still finishing up their Father's Day brunches, the Isle Casino Pompano Park Poker Room is just getting started...with the $200 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD).  The first of six starting flights is just getting underway, as players settle into their opening seating assignments.  The tournament is structured with starting stacks of 20,000 units, with levels to stand firmly at (30) minutes, over the course of the event.  Registration is open through Level 8, meaning players have just over (4.5) hours to join the action, as the window will close somewhere around 3:30pm.  Play is scheduled to conclude after Level 16 has finished, unless the 10% mark is reached before that point.

Sunday, June 17th: Happy Father's Day!!! Let's Celebrate With The First Pair Of $200 NLH ($100,000 GTD) Starting Flights

ICYMI: The recaps and results from yesterday's $175 No Limit Hold'em "Double Green Chip Bounty ($10,000 GTD), and $150 No Limit Hold'em "Deepstack" ($10,000 GTD), will be posted before live coverage of Flight 1A begins.

Tournaments: Players had Father's Day circled on their calendars, but it wasn't just to remember to buy a card, as the month's second multi begins today.  The $200 No Limit Hold'em event has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, with six flights over the next three days (Sunday through Tuesday). The tournament is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes over the event's entirety.  Players have until the end of Level 8 (and the break that follows) to join the action, with the day scheduled to end at the conclusion of Level 16 (or if the 10% mark is reached).  Those players that successfully bag chips at the end of each flight, will be returning on Wednesday (12:00pm), ready to play down to a winner.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

We are proud to announce that player's can now order from the "full" menu at Myron's Delicatessen, as table-side service will be offered all day.  The "limited" menu for the Poker Room is now a thing of the past, with a multitude of items now available for those interested in grabbing a little "nosh" while playing.

Along with the "full" menu being offered from Myron's, players at the table also have the option to order from Farradday's Steakhouse, which is now open seven days a week.  Those interesting in the offerings from Farradday's will have to do so, using either cash or credit card (table-side dining will not be able to use points for the meal, but points can be used when dining-in).

ICYMI: Wednesday tournament schedule kicked off with a $100 No Limit Hold'em event, which carried a $3,000 guaranteed prize pool.  The official field of (32) entries would equate to a prize pool directly on the number ($3,000), which was spread across four pay spots.  Once the money bubble burst, and after the elimination of Edgard Mendes (Deerfield Beach, FL), the final three players would agree to a deal.  Mary Schuehler (Delray Beach, FL) would be declared the event's winner, walking away with $980 from the chop.  Full results from the tournament are listed below:

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

Tuesday, June 12th: "Early Birds" Ready To Make Full Houses, With A Combined $5,000 In Tournament Guarantees

ICYMI: After five days dedicated to the $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD), Monday was the return to a full day of recurring events.  The schedule hosted two $80 No Limit Hold'em ($2,500 GTD) tournaments, with the first getting underway at 11:00am.  The afternoon field would grow to (36) entries, with the prize pool officially closing at $2,500.  Five players were scheduled to reach the money, with the action pausing once the money bubble burst.  A deal would be made at that point, with everyone walking away with at least $634.  The official numbers from the chop are posted below:

Promotions: Tuesday's promotions start with the every-popular Full House Early Bird, with the first (25) full houses awarded up to $60.  The amount won depends on which game is being played, as 2/2 Limit Hold'em players earn $20 (for each full house while eligible), 2/4 Limit Hold'em players earning $40 (for each full house while eligible), and $60 for those playing: 1/2 No Limit Hold'em, 2/5 No Limit Hold'em, 5/10 No Limit Hold'em, 3/6 Limit Hold'em, and 8/16 O.E.

Monday, June 11th: Jermaine Gerlin Heads Six-Way Chop Of $175 $100K, As We Return To Recurring Schedule

ICYMI: The $175 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD) was the first multi-flight tournament of the month, with eight starting flights played from Wednesday to Saturday.  Over the course of those flights, a total of (650) entries took their shot at bagging chips for Day 2, with (84) players successfully accomplishing the feat.  Yesterday's Day 2 action started at 12:00pm, with just over two hours needed to reach the money.  With (60) players remaining (in the money), action continued at a surprisingly slow pace, with numerous notables booking Isle Poker Room cashes.  Some familiar names to record results included Franckln Michel (58th place - $360), Allan Bieler (51st place - $425), Joshua Wasserman (37th place - $500), Diane Linke (31st place - $580), Tom Gity (26th place - $665), Antoine Bahi (19th place - $920), and Aaron Robbins (11th place - $1,635).

After Robbin's elimination, the final table would be reached, with the stacks very shallow (compared to the blinds).  Discussions of a chop were quickly shut down, and play would continue on as scheduled.  Bill Sheirch (Daytona, FL) would be the first to exit the final table (10th place), followed by Brent Ferguson (9th place).  James Tomblin looked to be in great position to take the chip lead at the final table, but saw Scott Hecker crack his pocket aces, eventually leading to his tournament demise (8th place).  Charles Glover would be the last player to get knocked out from final table action (7th place), as his short stack fell to chip leader Jermaine Gerlin.  Players would then run the numbers once again, and after a short negotiation, the event would officially be over (ending in a six-way deal).  Official final table results are listed below:
