Phil Hui's check after flopping top set was perfect, and ended up helping him double-up just before break.
About fifteen minutes before break, there would an open in early position at Table 6, with Phil Hui just flatting (with Q♠ Q♥). He would go to the flop (which was Q♦ 3♠ 2♣), and after action checked to him, he'd decide to check back. The line ended up working perfectly, as he and his opponent would get it all-in on the turn (6♠), with his adversary drawing dead (Ax Qx). The dealer counted down Phil's stack, which was 319,000, and just covered his opponent. Hui is now over 650,000, and peaking for the day, with a stack almost double the average.
Players will be returning from their second break momentarily, with new blinds being posted of 10,000/20,000/20,000.
Phil Hui - 655,000 (32bb)

With all of the tables in the tournament field, we've been lucky to witness two of the largest pots of the day. At Table 4, there would be a three-way hand, between Elliot Zaydman, Joshua Beckley, and Andrew Davis. We approached the hand on the river, with Zaydman already all-in (he was all-in pre-river), with the board reading A♥ A♦ 7♠ 2♦ 6♥.
There was already 500,000 in the pot, and on the river, Davis announced himself all-in. This is the same Davis who had over 1,000,000 just one level ago, and had Beckley covered. Now although Joshua was covered, the stack sizes were very similar, causing Beckley to go deep into the tank. Joshua had close to double average, and wasn't just going to make a decision without thinking things through. He ended up taking close to five minutes, with the table being very respectful of the amount of time used up, understanding the enormity of the situation.
Eventually, Joshua would make the call, and turn over 7♦ 7♣ (having flopped a full house). Davis just stared down at Beckley's hand, making no movement for close to twenty seconds. There was no slow-roll coming, Andrew was just in shock that his 2♣ 2♥ (turned full house) was beat. After Beckley's stack was matched by Davis, and the main pot was pushed his way, Joshua claimed the top spot on the Day 2 leaderboard.
Joshua Beckley - 1,900,000 (118bb)
Andrew Davis - 160,000 (10bb)

Andrew Davis (Delray Beach, FL) was having a little fun with Igor Korkhin, only using small chips to call wagers, but things got serious on the river.
We just happened to approach Table 3, to witness the largest pot of the afternoon, between Igor Korkhin and Andrew Davis. Igor had raised from early position (using only orange chips, which are 1,000 denomination), with Davis making the from the cutoff. Following the Q♣ J♣ 5♠ flop, Korkhin bet out 23,000, once again using just orange chips. Davis casually made the call, asking Igor, "Should I use only oranges as well?"
The turn then brought the 5♥, with Korkhin pushing forward his remaining two stacks of orange chips, equaling 46,000. This time, Davis collected his own orange denomination chips, and pushed them forward for the call (getting a little rise out of the rest of the table). The board completed with the 8♠, and with no more oranges to bet, Igor put out a bet of 45,000 (leaving just over 200,000 behind). David replied by announcing himself all-in (having Igor covered), which seemed to shock Korkhin, who decided to make the call.
Davis rolled over 10♠ 9♠, having rivered the straight, with Korkhin disgustingly tabling Q♥ Q♦ (having flopped top set). Davis is now the chip leader in the field, and also the first player to eclipse the 1,000,000 mark.
Andrew Davis - 1,300,000 (103bb)

Francky Dumornay (Miami, FL) said he "knew that hand was going to win," regardless of that fact that he went into the runout as a massive underdog.
The hand-for-hand process for swift...and that's how things are going to be moving forward here on Day 2 (until about 15-20 players remain). On the fourth hand of the hand-for-hand process, Scott Zakheim was all-in for 43,500, and would be called by Francky Dumonay (Miami, FL). While two players took their time when thinking about calling as well, they eventually folded their hands, and the cards would be tabled:
Zakheim: A♦ 10♣
Dumornay: 10♥ 9♥
Runout: 9♦ 5♠ 4♠ 9♣ 2♠
While Scott thought he was going to be in rough shape, he actually held a very commanding lead, once the cards found their backs. Francky, who came into the day third in chips, was fortunate to steal away the lead (with a nine on the flop). Scott would be drawing dead on the turn, but two other players would be eliminated on the very same hand, meaning the trio would split 152nd and 153rd places evenly.
Everyone in the remaining field is guarantee at least $175, but all eyes are on a handful of big numbers at the final table.

There were two players to win "chip lead bonuses" from this tournament, Marcin Plewinski (who bagged 508,000), and Michael Zonenashvili (who bagged 683,500). Zonensahvili, a local player from Pompano Beach, has just one recorded result on his Hendon Mob resume. Way back in 2012, Michael reached the final two tables of a $330 No Limit Hold'em event, ran during the Battles At The Beach. His 18th place finish would see a return of $2,214, which would be eclipsed today, if Michael was to finish better than 8th place.
