Wednesday, February 2nd: Mbaied and Koulouvaris Chop Tuesday's Tournament, With Focus Now Shifting To WSOP Circuit Series!!!

ICYMI: Before the start of the WSOP Circuit (which starts tomorrow), there was one out-of-series tournament to start the month of February.  The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) was a "warm-up" for the series, and saw registration close with a total of (60) entries.  The $6,000 prize pool was scheduled to be spread across the top eight spots, with action playing down to a heads-up final table.  Mohamad Mbaied and Christopher Koulouvaris agreed to a deal, which saw Mbaied take home first place money ($1,807).  There is no Player of the Month leaderboard for February, with much of the focus on the WSOP Circuit.  Official results from last night's event are posted below:

    1. Mohamad Mbaied (Boca Raton, FL) $1,807
    2. Christopher Koulouvaris (Tavernier, FL) $1,622

Tuesday, February 1st: Daniel Limperis Tops "Final Table Finish" Deal, Adel Jo Cements January Player Of The Month Title

ICYMI: Monday's $250 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($10,000 GTD) saw an extra boost in attendance, at players were trying to make a final run at the Player of the Month leaderboard.  Registration for the tournament closed with a total of (154) entries, which equated to a prize pool of $32,032.  With that number being spread across the top nine spots only, scheduled payouts were beyond impressive (first place was almost $15,000).  With the numbers as strong as they were, it allowed for players to find the multi-way chop numbers more than acceptable.  After two in-the-money eliminations, the final seven agreed to a deal, with Daniel Limperis taking home first place money.  While there were no changes in the top three of the leaderboard (Adel Jo took home the January title), TJ Shulman used a runner-up finish to vault into the money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, as well as a Player of the Month leaderboard (final for the month):
    1. Daniel Limperis (Lighthouse Point, FL) $5,717
    2. TJ Shulman (Duluth, GA) $4,352
    3. Michael Laufer (Boca Raton, FL) $4,350
    4. Ilan Hadida (Boca Raton, FL) $4,275
    5. Michael Newman (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $4,275
    6. Marco Rodriguez (Sunrise, FL) $3,738
    7. Ted Aldworth (Madison, WI) $3,403
    8. Jason Estrem (Vero Beach, FL) $961
    9. Alfredo Guevara (Hialeah, FL) $961

Tournaments: The $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) tournament had a very successful first run, and is now a member of the "recurring" tournament family.  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and has (20) minute levels throughout.  Registration is open through Level 8, and closes once the first hand of Level 9 is dealt (there is a short break between the two).

Promotions: From 10:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

    6:00pm: $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD)

    • Players start with 15,000 in tournament chips
    • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels

Monday, January 31st: Adel Jo Chops Even With David Poces, And Assumes Top Spot On Player Of The Month Leaderboard!!!

ICYMI: Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) was scheduled to be the second-to-last tournament of the month, meaning anyone that was in contention for the Player of the Month title, would likely be in attendance.  The field ended up reaching (94) entries, with players competing for a piece of the $32,712 prize pool.  Action would play down to a heads-up final table, at which point Adel Jo (Miami, FL) and David Poces (Boca Raton, FL) agreed to an even chop.  The 23.84 leaderboard points that Adel Jo earned, helped him eclipse Jonathan Marcu (top spot on the rankings), with now one event remaining in the month.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
    1. Adel Jo (Miami, FL) $8,297
    2. David Poces (Boca Raton, FL) $8,297
    3. Terraine Taylor (Salisbury, NC) $3,925
    4. Michael Newman (New York, NY) $2,535
    5. Paul Freedman (Hampton, NH) $1,963
    6. Robert Kessler (Parkland, FL) $1,554
    7. Stephen Pheasant (Duncansville, PA) $1,308
    8. Altabal Mohamed (Cutler Bay, FL) $1,145
    9. Peter Cleven (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,038
    10. Eric Siegel (Melville, NY) $949
    11. Mikhail Prokopchuk (Pompano Beach, FL) $883
    12. Scott Zakheim (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $818

Tournaments: At 6:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
    1. 40%
    2. 18%
    3. 10%
    4. 7%
    5. 7%
    6. 6%
    7. 6%
    8. 3%
    9. 3%
Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

In addition to the high hands, there is a "bonus" promotion in place, which offers $1,000 to the highest hand from the 9:00am-12:00pm time period.  If a player makes a straight flush in the 9:00am-9:30am qualifying period, and that is the best qualifying high hand from 9:00am-12:00pm, they will earn an extra $1,000 (in addition to the $300 they were awarded for the half-hour time period).

6:00pm: $250 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($10,000 GTD)
    • Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
    • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels
    • Alternates and late entries will start with a full stack
    • Levels will last (20) minutes

ICYMI: With only two tournaments left in the month of January, as the leaderboard as close as we've seen (since it's inception), the final two tournaments held more importance than ever.  Saturday's $130 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) saw some impressive numbers, as registration closed with a total of (115) entries, and an official prize pool of $11,500.  The final fifteen players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a five-handed final table.  At that time, a deal was agreed to between the remaining players, with Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) taking home first place.  The first place leaderboard points helped Marcu vault to the top of the rankings, with only two more tournaments on the list:
    1. Jonathan Marcu (Boca Raton, FL) $2,238
    2. Warren Thomas (Owen Sound, Canada) $1,754

With the way tournaments have been at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, it should come as not surprise, if this event surpasses all expectations.  Those looking to get updates on numbers, can follow the action on the Bravo Poker Live app.  All results from this afternoon's action will be recapped tomorrow on the blog.

ICYMI: Friday's $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD) started off slowly, but as the registration window began to close, the field grew to (53) entries.  The $6,466 prize pool helped eclipse the posted guarantee, and was scheduled to be spread across the final seven spots.  After the money bubble, action played down to a four-handed final table, at which point a chop was agreed to.  Brian Dunn (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) returned to the winner's circle, with official results from the tournament listed below (as well as an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
