Monday, July 18th: Andrew Kern Tops Three-Way Deal Of Sunday's Final Table Finish, Now Running Away With Player Of The Month Leaderboard

ICYMI: To say that Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em "Final Table Finish" ($50,000 GTD) was a success, would be considered a true understatement.  The tournament exceeded all expectations, and is sure to see a similar turnout next Sunday as well.  Cards got in the air at 3:00pm, and by the time registration closed (after Level 8, and the break that followed), the tournament clock would boast (254) entries.  The $87,122 prize pool was scheduled to be paid out across the final nine players, meaning a min-cash alone would see a return of almost nine buy-ins!!!  First place was scheduled to take home over $35,000, and with the top spots offering up such eye-popping numbers, it's no surprise that the final three agreed to a chop.  Andrew Kern, who was already atop the Player of the Month leaderboard, took home first place money (worth $24,375).  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  1. Andrew Kern (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $24,375
  2. Gregorio Correa (Tamarac, FL) $19,657
  3. Samuel Sternfield (Coral Springs, FL) $15,210
  4. Efthimios Piperakis (Pembroke Pines, FL) $6,099
  5. Carlos Garcia (Miami, FL) $6,099
  6. Adam Mammon (Lauderhill, FL) $4,356
  7. Ronald Campillo (Plantation, FL) $4,356
  8. Angela Lynn (Did Not Report) $3,485
  9. Shamica Lamar (Wellington, FL) $3,485

Tournaments: At 5:00pm this evening, the $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD)s "Final Table Finish" returns, with a little wrinkle.  This particular tournament had such a good structure, that the final table action ran into the closing time of the poker room (players are then faced with chopping, or bagging for a Day 2).  To keep that from occurring, there will be some slight changes moving forward.

The event will be structured with 25,000 chip starting stacks, (20) minute levels, and open registration through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  The new format-wrinkle comes into play when discussing payouts, as the tournament will pay out just the final table, regardless of how many entries.  Exact payout percentages are as follows (final tables are now nine-handed):
  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%
  6. 6%
  7. 6%
  8. 3%
  9. 3%

Promotions: From 9:00am (the minute the doors open) until 12:00pm, there is a new promotion in June, offering boosted Early Bird High Hands.  The high hand at the top of the hour (:00) will be awarded $599, while the high hands at the bottom of the hour (:30) will be awarded $300.  From 12:00pm until 11:00pm, $300 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes. These high hands must be aces-full or better, use both hole cards, and be the winning hand (in a pot that has at least $10).  From 11:00pm until close, $100 high hands will be awarded every (30) minutes.

  • Players start with 25,000 in tournament chips
  • Late and re-entries for the first (8) levels

Wednesday, July 13th: Salvatore Accardi Tops Tuesday's Three-Way Chop, As We Take A Day Off From Tournament Poker

ICYMI:
It's been said before, and it will be said once again...players have made it clear that there is definitely a place for an $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD) event on the recurring schedule.  It was originally re-introduced on Friday evening, and found a new home on Tuesday night's as well.  Last night's tournament saw registration close with a total of (64) entries, and an official prize pool of $4,400 (after the optional add-ons were included).  A total of (8) players were scheduled to reach the money, with action playing down to a three-handed final table.  Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL), who is well known for the max-late registration trend, walked away with first place money.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  1. Salvatore Accardi (Pompano Beach, FL) $1,098
  2. Michael Fiebiger (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,093
  3. Robert Kuznietz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $907

Tuesday, July 12th: "Final Table Finish" Ends In Four-Way Deal, With Tuesday's $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD) Looking To Continue It's Success

ICYMI:
Monday's $250 No Limit Hold'em ($20,000 GTD) could quite possibly be one of the best recurring tournament options in the entire state of Florida (let alone our South Florida market).  With the prize pool being paid out to the top nine spots...regardless of how many entries the tournament gets, means the entered will have an opportunity to secure payouts that are much healthier than all other tournaments (even those that have a similar price point).  Last night's tournament saw a field that grew to (125) entries, helping the official prize pool cruise past the posted guarantee (closing at $26,000).  Action played through the money bubble, and down to a four-handed final table.  Seth Medoff (Pompano Beach, FL) earned himself a lion's share of the money, walking away with $7,560 for first place.  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:
  1. Seth Medoff (Pompano Beach, FL) $7,560
  2. Carlos Garcia (Miami, FL) $4,106
  3. Alexander Obed (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $3,917
  4. Joseph Duchman (Miami Beach, FL) $3,917
  5. David McMahon (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,820
  6. Anatoly Zharnitsky (Sarasota, FL) $1,300
  7. Sergio Amato (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,300
  8. Noronha Santana (Davie, FL) $1,040
  9. Luciano Tardi (Delray Beach, FL) $1,040

Tournaments: Tuesday's tournament schedule now boasts the $80 No Limit Hold'em ($4,000 GTD)...a new event that replaces the $160 No Limit Hold'em ($5,000 GTD).  The cards get in the air at 6:00pm, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 12,000.  Levels will last (20) minutes throughout the evening, with registration open through Level 8 (and the break that follows).  At the end of registration, players will have the opportunity to add-on for $40 (receiving an additional 15,000 chips).

Monday, July 11th: David Steinberg Tops Sunday's Three-Way Chop, "Final Table Finish" Always Circled On Tournament PLayer's Calendars

ICYMI: Sunday's $400 No Limit Hold'em tournament may not boast a five-figure guarantee this month, but players are still seeing the value in an intimate field, and large payouts.  Yesterday's installment saw registration close with (35) entries, and an official prize pool of $12,005.  That number was scheduled to be paid out across the top five spots, with the evening's action playing down to a three-handed final table.  At that point, the remaining players agreed to a chop, which saw David Steinberg (Coconut Creek, FL) take home first place money (along with the Player of the Month leaderboard points that correlated).  Official results from the tournament are listed below, along with an updated Player of the Month leaderboard:

  1. David Steinberg (Coconut Creek, FL) $3,469
  2. Jonathan Lasko (Hollywood, FL) $3,166
  3. Ryan Estrada (Sunrise, FL) $3,089
  4. Dylan Malcomson (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $1,321
  5. Samuel Sternfield (Coral Springs, FL) $960

  1. 40%
  2. 18%
  3. 10%
  4. 7%
  5. 7%
  6. 6%
  7. 6%
  8. 3%
  9. 3%
