Greg Rosen (Sunrise, FL)

The action at Table 10 was picked up just as Greg Rosen was apologizing to Frederico Dabus.  "I thought you were making a move on the bubble," Rosen said as he stacked up the pot he had just won.  Action folded around to Dabus on the button, who then shoved his remaining 75,000.  Rosen called from the small blind, and after the big blind folded, it would be the A♠ J♣ of Dabus up against the K♣ Q♠ of Rosen.  The K♠ 9♥ 3♦ 4♠ 6♠ runout would mean Dabus would be eliminated on the bubble.

Dabus would get a small conselation, as Michael Gutterman was eliminated on the same hand over at Table 2, meaning the two would split the $591 min-cash.  The players remaining are all guaranteed at least $591, and are focusing on the $68,594 up top.

Things have moved quickly since the beginning of the day, and we are only (12) eliminations from the money.  When the field reaches (111) players, Tournament Director Ralph Brandt will pause the clock, and the field will enter hand-for-hand play.  Two minutes will be accounted for each hand that is played on the bubble, and then removed from the clock after it bursts.

Joseph Christman (Pacifica, CA)

Players are about to take their first break of the day, and will be returning to Level 17 and new blinds of 2,500/5,000/500.  The stacks are already getting a little shallower, as the chip average which started the day at (40) big blinds is now closer to (30).

There has been a lot of movement in terms of the chip counts, as would be expected, but a trio of players do stand out in terms of rising up the ranks.

Joseph Christman - Started Day 2 with 142,000, and it now holding a top five stack with close to 490,000.

Michael Ortiz - The tournament savvy player began his Day 2 with 198,000, and has almost doubled that over the first hour of play (385,000).

Avery Bass - Bass was the player to chop down a big chunk of Tom Gity's stack to begin the day, and he has doubled what was a 153,000 stack to start the day (now sits with 320,000).

Thomas Collazo (Davie, FL)

The first level of the day is now in the books, as we saw just under (20) players knocked out in the first half-hour.  Thomas Collazo (Davie, FL) came into the day as the overall chipleader, bagging over 460,000 in the final flight of the tournament (Flight L).  Colas has started the day off strong, and has been an active presence at Table 13.  Very vocal and chatty with his table mates while involved in hands, Collazo has already eclipsed the 550,000 mark to increase his lead.

The tournament area is close to capacity, with (178) players returning for Day 2 of Event 9.  Similar to "moving day" in golf, the first handful of levels on Day 2 determine the storylines that gradually unfold in the later stages of the day.  This is the most "star-studded" field we've seen since the series started two weeks ago, so we shouldn't be short on said storylines.

We've already witness Tom Gity, our Flight E chip leader (and second overall in chips), get off to a very rocky start.  Gity turned a straight with 7♥ 8♦ on a board of 6♥ 10♦ J♥ 9♦, but his opponent held K♥ 9♥, and ended up rivering a better straight, to steal the sizable pot away.  The field is still over (50) eliminations from the money bubble, so we are likely an hour or two away from the cash.
