Event 16 (Day 2): The Calm Before The Storm

Event 16 ($150 No Limit Hold'em Re-Entry)
$100,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
Level 17 (Blinds 2,500/5,000/500)
Total Entries: 1,021
Players Remaining: 155

The Day 2 field finished off the remaining minutes from Level 16 (ten minutes), and are now half the way through the first full level of the day.  There have already been (15) eliminations from the (171) players to return just thirty minutes ago, many of which were the shorter stacks (returning with less than ten big blinds).  Just under half of the players that returned this morning will reach the money, so it should be a little while before the money bubble is reached.  Things will not move as fast as last week's Event 10, as those levels were (20) minutes in length, and Day 2 play resumed in Level 19.

While the structure for this event is solid, it will not lend to the shorter stacks acting with patience.  As the first few levels of the day disappear, the chip stacks will become shallower, and the action will surely pick up.  Just a reminder, one the money is reached, the live coverage will focus on: the players that cashed (posting each pay jump), updated hand histories, updated chip counts, and updates on all of the important "goings on" in the event.
