2016 was a very special year for Mukul Pahuja (Hicksville, NY), and it had nothing to do with the $656,000 he earned via live tournaments. Mukul and his wife Alexis had their first child Kristian, which...as parents will tell you, is one of the most incredible moments of your life. Having a newborn may have lessened Pahuja's tournament volume towards the end of the year, but he was able to bring Kristian home "something new and shiny," a trophy from Seminole Hard Rock. Pahuja won the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em event during the most recent Lucky Hearts Poker Open, adding $79,544 to his already impressive career earnings ($4,897,589).
Even showing up this late in the day, Pahuja's 30,000 starting stack is still (50) big blinds, a very manageable stack to play with. He won't have too much time to get comfortable, as players will be heading on another break in just a few moments, returning to Level 9, and new blinds of 400/800/100.
