Tuesday, August 22nd: Spotlight On Today's $2,500 NLH "Single-Day Series"

ICYMI: Monday's tournament action saw a little shift from the schedule, as the $130 No Limit Hold'em "Survivor" was replaced by a $275 No Limit Hold'em Satellite into the $2,500 NLH "Single-Day Series" (1 Seat GTD).  Considering this satellite was announced less than one week ago, the showing was very impressive.  A total of (35) entries made up the field, meaning three seats (plus a fourth "cash" spot) would be awarded.  As action got close to the money bubble, players decided to split the cash award into two spots, meaning five players would get paid in the event.  Charlemagne Benjamin, Marsha Wolak, and Peter Fellows will be playing in today's $2,500 No Limit Hold'em "Single-Day Series."

  1. Charlemagne Benjamin ($2,500 Seat)
  2. Peter Fellows ($2,500 Seat)
  3. Marsha Wolak ($2,500 Seat)
  4. Ian Cohen ($625)
  5. Javier Ramirez ($625)
The highlighting event from yesterday began at 6:00pm, as the cards got in the air for the $130 No Limit Hold'em ($25,000 GTD).  The numbers wouldn't disappoint, as a total of (280) entries made up the field, equating to a prize pool of $27,160.  Once that payouts were posted, everyone's eyes were on the $6,081 first place prize, one of the larger numbers you'll see in a daily event.  After years of Isle Casino poker cashes, and numerous close calls, Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) earned his first tournament a win (heading a seven-way chop).
  1. Luke Rosenberg (Parkland, FL) $4,514
  2. Raul Arza (Panama) $3,109
  3. Michael Horton (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) $2,590
  4. Francis Garcia (N. Miami, FL) $2,198
  5. Michael Spadafore (Boynton Beach, FL) $2,145
  6. A. Nonymous (Boynton Beach, FL) $1,817
  7. Gili Prizament (Biscayne Park, FL) $1,732
Tournaments: Today is a special day in regards to tournaments, as three events make up the schedule. The first tournament on the slate (11:00am) is the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Monster Stack" ($3,000 GTD), structured with starting stacks of 25,000 units, and levels of (20) minutes over the course of the afternoon.

The next tournament is a "special addition" to the schedule, as the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em "Single-Day Series" gets the cards in the air at 12:00pm.  The tournament has a structure that sees players sitting down to starting stacks of 100,000 units, and playing levels of (30) minutes throughout the event.  This tournament will end tonight, with sporadic updates and a recap posted tomorrow.

It's back to the standard daily tournament schedule at 6:00pm, with action getting underway in the $60 No Limit Hold'em ($8,000 GTD) event.  Players in the tournament sit down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, and play (20) minute levels, with an optional add-on at registration's close.
