Charlie Maclennan (Canada) came into the day with only one recorded tournament cash, and almost doubles that score with his seventh place finish. |
Charlie Maclennan (Canada) had made a habit of leaving himself short throughout the later stages of this tournament, calling raises...but leaving only two or three bigs behind. It actually worked a handful of times, as players either led into him when he had hands on the flop, or felt the need to call him (very light) because the odds were right. The plan backfired moments ago, as Maclennan called a raise from Dale Smith, with action going check-check after a Q♣ A♠ 7♠ flop. Smith then bet enough on the turn to put Charlie all-in, to which Maclennan snapped. This time he would be behind, as Smith tabled A
♥ 3
♥, well ahead of Charlie's K
♥ Q♠. The turn would bring paint, but the J♠ was no help to Maclennan, who exited the final table in sixth place.
