Sunday, March 25th: It's "Moving Day" For The Battles At The Beach Championship, Celso Leroy Ships Event #15

ICYMI: Yesterday was the final starting flight for the 2018 Battles At The Beach Championship, which has become one of the more successful main events in the series' history (with the opportunity to grow even more this afternoon).  The field would grow to (202) entries over the ten levels played, with (70) players reaching the bagging process, joining the (72) that had bagged from the prior two flights.  Kevin Chan (282,500) and Ruslan Dyshteyn (219,500) held chip leads for a good portion of the day, and ended up bagging the flight's top two stacks, which means we will see them this Thursday in Event #18 ($2,500 No Limit Hold'em Single-Ante $100,000 GTD).  Other players to bag chips for yesterday's flight included Joseph Couden (178,600), Evan Dollinger (177,600), Uri Kadosh (138,500), and Jonathan Borenstein (130,000).

Event #14 had a total of (397) entries over it's three starting flights combined, with (142) players successfully bagging chips for this afternoon's Day 2.  The prize pool grew to $535,950, and will continue to grow this afternoon.  Registration for the event is open for the first two levels of the day (and the break that follows), allowing for players to join the action until 1:50pm (there are 50 minute levels moving forward).  Those looking for Day 2 seating assignments can click here to see the official listing.

The Battles At The Beach series continued last night, and players arrived at 6:00pm for Event #15, which was a $150 No Limit Hold'em tournament (with a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool).  After eight levels of open registration, the field would close with (163) entries, and an official prize pool of $20,000.  A total of (21) players would reach the money, with numerous notables cashing in the event, short of the final table (Michael Larkin, David Albertson, Gyorgy Cseke, Robyn Marshman).  After three final table eliminations, the remaining players would agree to a deal, with Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) awarded first place money (and the trophy).  Official results from the final table can be found below:
  1. Celso Leroy (Delray Beach, FL) $3,361
  2. Luis Guarda (Coral Springs, FL) $2,594
  3. Marvin Tulloch (Sunrise, FL) $1,931

Tournaments: Day 2 of Event #14 will see players returning at 12:00pm, with action resuming for the Battles At The Beach Championship Event.  Those that have already bagged chips will also be joined by players arriving with a starting stack, as registration is still open through the first two levels of play today.  Those players buying in this afternoon will be sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 units, with levels transitioning to (50) minutes for the rest of the event.  Once registration closes (after Level 12), official payouts for the event will be posted.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
