"Thor" really "dropped the hammer" during hand-for-hand play, winning two big hands against Jose Cueto.

Hand-For-hand play started with just under (20) minutes remaining in Level 19, and as it continued on, there were a handful of players that were shorter than five big blinds.  The "wait and see" method wasn't quite working, and they'd be force to post their final chips with blinds and antes.  Kareem Bernardo, who started with more than 150,000 on the bubble, managed to get himself into spots where he had to release short of showdown.  He'd find himself with less than ten big blinds, and would be eliminated on the bubble, becoming the last player in the field to walk away empty handed.

The story of the bubble was Jaime "Thor" Wiegrefe, who managed to win two massive pots from Jose Cueto, that would help him almost triple his start of bubble stack.  Just a few hands into the bubble, Wiegrefe was all-in and at risk with 4♠ 6♠ on a 5♣ 7 8 flop, against Cueto's A♣ 8♠ (for a pot worth over 400,000).  Players began to crowd around the table, and a collective moan came across the crowd when the 8♣ fell on the turn.  Jaime now had to sweat the river, and would have been eliminated if the board paired, or Jose hit an ace on the river.  The Q♣ hit the felt though, securing the double up for Wiegrefe, and leaving Cueto left to question the hand.

Jaime then won the very next pot against Cueto, after turning a flush, and getting called on the final two streets.  Luckily for Jose, he was able to absorb those losses in stride, and still came out with over 250,000.  "Thor" chipped up to 575,000 in the five-minute span, and now finds himself top ten in the field.

Jaime Wiegrefe - 575,000 (57bb)
