Tony Kern (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was the shortest stack at the final table, and after busting in tenth place, would earn the largest tournament cash of his career. |
After action folded around to Jamie Wiegrefe on the button, he would shove for less than ten big blinds. Michael Marks released his small blind, and with just 400,000 behind his 160,000 big blind, Tony Kern made the call (and was at risk):
Wiegrefe: A♣ 9♣
Kern: K♣ J♦
Runout: A♠ 5♥ 2♣ 3♠ J♥
Wirgrefe couldn't have dreamt of a better flop, with numerous cards on the turn that would leave Kern drawing dead. The turn did bring chop outs for Anthony, but he would make an insignificant pair on the river, and would exit the final table in 10th place ($2,555).
