Isle Open Event #6 (Day 2): In A Shocking Turn Of Events, Jason Thalas Is The Event #6 Bubble Boy

2018 Isle Open | Event #6
$360 No Limit Hold'em ($100,000 GTD)
Level 15 (Blinds 2.000/4,000/4,000)
Total Event #6 Entries: 542
Event #6 Players Remaining: 48

Bill Farnan could only sit and smile after Thalas exited the table, as he was gifted a pot that was worth close to 400,000...on the stone bubble...with pocket kings.

From chip leader to out on the bubble...in a matter of just over a level.  Jason Thalas had lost a close to 900,000 pot to Santana Noronha (during hand-for-hand play), and two hands later, he would open from early position to 15,000.  Santana made the call, with players folding around to Bill Farnan.  Farnan three-bet to 60,000, and when action returned to Thalas, he would shove for close to 180,000. Santana released, and Farnan quickly made the call:

Thalas: 9♣ 7♣
Farnan: K♠ K♣

Runout: J♠ 2 K Q 8♠

"He just had no break," the players said at the table, after Thalas quickly walked away.  With no other play eliminated on the same hand, Jason became the last Event #6 player (Day 2) to walk away empty handed.

Bill Farnan - 710,000 (177bb)
