Claudemir Osorio and Rafael Fernandes traveled together from the Tampa-area to this tournament, and both succeeded in their first goal (bagging chips). Rafael bagged 187,000 for Day 2, with Osorio coming into the day short of chip average, with 112,000.
On the money bubble, Rafael got it in with K♠ K♥ versus K♦ K♣, having his opponent covered. The board would run out 10♦ 9♦ 2♦ Q♦ 5♣ though, and Rafael would be left with just over 60,000. Both players have seen success since that point though, with Osorio well above chip average (650,000), and Fernandes right on the number (430,000). The pair are very accomplished tournament players, and seemed poised to make a deep run, something neither has experienced here at the Isle Poker Room.
