Sunday, August 27th: Players Return For Day 2 Of The "August $100,000," Playing Down To A Winner

ICYMI: Saturday was the final day for players to try and bag chips for Day 2 of the "August $100,000," with action kicking off at 11:00am with Flight 1G.  The flight would attract a total of (170) entries, with a mixture of players making the appearance for the first time, and others trying to bag after multiple efforts.  After sixteen full levels were played, (23) players would enter the bagging process, led by Tony Ruberto (275,000).  Ruberto bought into the flight towards the end of registration, and after spending a few levels slowly increasing his stack, he caught fire towards the end of the day.  Other notables to bag from Flight 1G included Alan Munoz (258,500), Jason Young (184,500), Frank Traino (152,000), and Kimberly Jones (57,500).

The final of eight starting flights got underway at 6:00pm, and ended up being the second largest of all the flights, as registration closed with (198) total entries.  It was the last opportunity for players to find a Day 2 bag, so the action was fast and furious throughout the night.  The storyline from the flight was Mike Jones (Boca Raton, FL), who ended up bagging the flight's chip lead (474,000), heading a group of (26) players to reach Day 2.  Mike Jones' bag would end up being the largest of the (154) returning this afternoon.

Those (154) players are coming back at 12:00pm, from a combined total of 1,126 entries.  The "August $100,000" was just another, in a long list of successful tournaments hosted here at the Isle Casino Poker Room as of recent.  The prize pool closed a $129,490, besting the posted guarantee by almost $30,000, and offering up a first place prize of $21,782.

Tournaments: Those (154) players return to action for Day 2 at 12:00pm, with the tournament scheduled to play down to a winner.  The only change in structure for the day is the transition to (30) minute levels, which will stay that way for the duration of the event.

For those players looking for a "second chance," or others just wanted some different tournament action, the $100 No Limit Hold'em "Hard Stop, ICM Chop" event gets underway at 6:00pm.  The tournament's biggest appeal, and what players have come to love, it the fact that the event will be over shortly after midnight (each and every time its played in the evening time slot).

Promotions: For a number of months, Sunday's high hand promotion has been of the "turbo" format, with $300 awarded every (15) minutes from 2:00pm-9:00pm (rollovers apply).  While that promotion is still in place this afternoon, there will be an extra six hours of "turbo" high hands, with $100 awarded every (10) minutes, from 8:00am-2:00pm (rollovers apply).  However you break it down, it's $600 worth of high hands up for grabs over the span of (13) hours.  Both tournaments are high hand eligible, adding even more appeal to the events.
