Isle Open Championship (Day 1C): Newman Runs Kings Into Al Gomez's Aces

2017 Isle Open | Event #21
$1,500 No Limit Hold'em Isle Open Championship| $500,000 GTD
Level 11 (Blinds 800/1,600/200)
Total Day 1C Entries: 178

Al Gomez (Miami, FL) watches as the dealer cuts down his stack, verifying that he has more than Michael Newman.

Al Gomez was trending in the right direction since dinner, but made a speculative call against Michael Newman (about fifteen minutes ago), that would cost him close to half his stack.  Al was recoup those chips (plus more) just moments ago, as the two players got it all-in pre-flop, for a pot worth close to 170,000.  Gomez held a big lead with A A♣ against Michael's K♠ K, with the 8♣ 4 10♠ 5♣ 6♣ runout solidifying things for Gomez.  Newman would be left to decide whether he's going to make another attempt at bagging chips this evening, while Al rockets up the leaderboard (no pun intended).

Al Gomez - 166,000 (103bb)

Players are now heading on their final break of the night, and will be returning to Level 11, and new blinds of 800/1,600/200.
