Isle Open Championship (Day 1C): Yassa Already Over The Century Mark, Leaves Brian Schaffer With Dust

2017 Isle Open | Event #21
$1,500 No Limit Hold'em Isle Open Championship| $500,000 GTD
Level 4 (Blinds 150/300/50)
Total Day 1C Entries: 118

Nagui Yassa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is just one of numerous players to have been featured this series, that are in the midst of their best statistical year of tournament poker.

Nagui Yassa (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) could be playing some of the best tournament poker of his life, with recent results to prove that.  Just over a month ago, Nagui almost bested a field of 1,612 entries in the opening event of the WSOP Circuit at Hard Rock ($580 No Limit Hold'em), finishing in fourth place for $46,974.  It was Yassa's largest lifetime cash, and the most significant numbers for Nagui since a cash in 2009 at Bellagio ($32,683).

Yassa is looking for his second major title, and is currently off to a great start in this flight.  While the action leading up to his double isn't known, we did pass Table 8 as the dealer was cutting out his stack of more than 60,000.  He held 8 5 on a 8♠ 8♣ 7 4 J board, besting the Q Q♣ of Brian Schaffer, and winning a pot worth close to 130,000.  Schaffer would be left with just a few blinds in front of him, and was eliminated the very next hand.
