Chris Lawson (Livingston, TX) was cruising for most of the day, and entered the final table fourth in chips. Once action at the final table played out, he ended up losing almost every pot that he entered, and eventually found himself with less than ten big blinds. After Richard Wetter shoved from middle position (for around 1,000,000), Lawson ended up calling out of the big blind (having just under 10 big blinds). Lawson was racing with 7♦ 7♣, against the A♦ K♦ of Wetter, but the Q♣ 10♣ 4♣ J♦ Q♥ runout saw Chris drawing to a club on the river.. He would head to the podium to collect his seventh place money, which was worth $5,300.
