Sunday, January 28th: Players Return For Day 2 Of The "January $100,000 II," With $31,677 Up Top

ICYMI: As expected, yesterday's pair of starting flights for the "January $100,000 II," were the busiest of the six to have been played (by far).  Flight 1E started at 11:00am, and within just two hours, the field was large enough to help eclipse the posted guarantee ($100,000).  Registration eventually closed with (216) entries, of which (32) players reached the bagging process.  Rob Jonsson (Deerfield Beach, FL), who started to chip up early in the day's blog coverage, ended up bagging the flight's chip lead (306,500).  Larry Hirschfield (273,000) and Greg Rosen (272,000) rounded out the top three stacks, with a full list of counts from the flight found by clicking here.

Just as Flight 1E was winding down, the action for Flight 1F (6:00pm) was picking up, eventually ending up with (218) total entries.  Of those entries, (31) players reached the bagging process, led by Isle Poker regular Michael Marks (425,000).  Michael's lead was very impressive, considering the next largest stacks were over 150,000 behind him, as he enters today's Day 2 play as the overall chip leader.  Scott Levitt (275,000) and Lukas Pribyl (225,000) rounded out the top three stacks from the flight, with the full list of chip counts found by clicking here.

A total of (125) players will be returning at 12:00pm this afternoon (from 867 total entries), ready to play down to an eventual winner.  The payouts for the event boast a first place prize of $31,677, with the next three pay spots all earning over five-figures.  Coverage of Day 2 will begin the moment the cards are in the air, and continue through the event's conclusion.

Tournaments: As noted above, (125) players will return at 12:00pm, for Day 2 of the "January $100,000 II."  Those that cash short of the final table, along with players looking for a different tournament, have the opportunity to play another event at 6:00pm.  At the point, the action will start for a $120 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty" tournament, which carries a $2,500 guarantee.  Players in the event sit down to starting stacks of 14,000 units, and play levels lasting (15) minutes.  There is an optional player add-on at the end of registration (Level 10), with players seeing a return of 10,000 units, for a $25 cost.  There will also be a $25 bounty awarded for each player eliminated in the event.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-12:00am (midnight), with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible (Isle Open events not eligible for high hand) each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.  From 12:00am-9:00am, players are eligible for $100 high hands every hour.

It should also be noted that started back on November 1st, players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand!!!  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
