Jerry Wong (Margate, FL) arrived just after play resumed in Level 5, and was seated at Table 5. Shortly after his arrival, a shorter-stacked Brian Hastings was moved to his table, with the two tangling just moments ago. Hastings would be all-in pre-flop for just over 12,000, and at risk with 8♣ 8♦, against the A♥ K♦ of Wong. The A♦ Q♥ 9♥ flop quickly gave Jerry the lead, with the 3♥ on the turn unknowingly leaving Hastings drawing dead. We say "unknowingly," because after the river (which happened to be the 8♥), another player at the table stated that he had the 8♠. That meant that the only remaining eight, which happened to appear on the river, would no longer help Hastings (giving Jerry the winning flush).
Brian walked over the cage, and has already re-joined the action, being seated at Table 9. Jerry chipped up to 42,000 with the pot, and is quickly making up for lost time.
