FSPC Event #4 (Flight 1B): Second Verse...Same As The First, Flight 1B Action About To Begin

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #4 | $360 No Limit Hold'em | $200,000 GTD
Level 1 (Blinds 100/100)
Total Flight 1B Entries: N/A

In just a few minutes, the first hand will be dealt for Flight 1B of Event #4, a $360 No Limit Hold'em tournament with a $200,000 guarantee.  Yesterday's opening flight saw a total of (155) entries at registration's close, with (20) of those players reaching the money, and (8) of them bagging chips for Monday's Day 2.  Jim Hayes led the field when the bagging process started, bagging over 300,000 more than his nearest competitor (who was Evan Tietelbaum).  Jim's stack of 879,000 sets the bat extremely high for the remaining flights, but it wouldn't be surprising to see someone surpass that number.

After the conclusion of Level 14, the length will shift to (40) minutes, offering up even deeper play for players.  Registration is open through Level 8 (and the break that follows), allowing for over four hours to join the action.  The chip lead bonus also returns, as the top stack from each opening flight will earn a seat into Event #14 ($1,500 NLH Florida State Poker Championship Main Event).  Along with the big blind ante format, there is a new wrinkle to this event, with the explanation listed below:

Payouts: On each Day 1, 12.5% (1 in 8) of the field will be paid $450-$650 (depending on order of finish) down to 5% Day 2 field.

Best Stack Forward: Players qualifying for Day 2 may play another Day 1 flight in an attempt to better their chip count. Players that have qualified for Day 2 with multiple chip stacks will only be permitted to play their highest qualifying stack. The other stacks will be removed from play and the player will receive the minimum Day 2 payout (approximately $1,000) for each stack “forfeited”

Official chip counts from Flight 1A will be published next, with a first look at the Flight 1B field to follow.
