The group that bagged would be lead by Jonathan Jaffe, who finished the day with 437,000. Jaffe continued a trend we've seen this weekend, of players arriving late in the day, and running up top stacks. Rounding out the top five stacks from Day 1D were:
Jeffrey Trudeau - 345,000
Joseph Wilson - 258,500
Tan Nguyen - 240,000
Michael Batherwich - 227,500
Just outside the top five was Vanessa Rousso, who was able to put aside the fatigue of a long day, to bag 210,500. The combined numbers for the event see the total number of entries at (364), which equates to a prize pool $491,400. We are just seven entries away from reaching the $500,000 posted guarantee, which will be surpassed before the cards get in the air this afternoon.
Today is the final starting day for Event #14, with the action getting underway at 2:00pm. Players interested in satellites have one final opportunity, with the $340 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo" Satellite beginning at 10:00am.
Tournaments: Sunday start off at 10:00am, with the final satellite for Event #14 ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em Florida State Poker Championship Main Event $500,000 GTD). The $340 No Limit Hold'em Satellite is of the "turbo" format, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 15,000 units, and playing levels that last (15) minutes in length. The registration window is open through Level 8, and the (10) minute break that follows.
At 2:00pm, the cards will fly for Day 1D of Event #14 ($1,500 No Limit Hold'em FSPC Main Event $500,000 GTD), the final of four starting flights for the event. The series' premier tournament offers an incredible structure, with players sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 units. Levels 1-12 will last (50) minutes (which is the duration of each opening flight), and will transition to (60) minutes from Level 13 onward. Registration will be open through Level 12 (all of the opening flight), and will stay that way until the first card is dealt on Day 2 (12:00pm on Monday).
The 2018 FSPC then rolls on later in the evening, as Event #15 begins at 6:00pm. The tournament is a $130 No Limit Hold'em "Turbo Bounty," with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. The event is structured with 20,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (15) minutes in length. Registration for the event is open through Level 10, because of the "turbo" moving levels.
Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes. The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes. During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.
It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand. The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
